Music City Mayhem – 18U Top Two-Way Stars

Enjoy!</strong></em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The PRZ Music City Mayhem 7v7 tourney has come and gone and we saw plenty of standout performances throughout the various divisions. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone throughout the week for more breakdowns on each division and some of the various positions. In this post, we're putting a spotlight on the best of the best from the players that shined on both sides of the ball. Plenty of players played offense and defense this weekend but these guys did it at a very high level. Then you ask around and check out his game and you find out that he's a linebacker and one of the better linebackers in Tennesseee's 2024 class. You can see it with the way he moves and just how put together he already is right now. Curll had a good day on Saturday when we got to watch him for a few games, making some really good catches on offense. But when it comes to projecting him as a prospect, we didn't get to see much of what appears to be his natural position at linebacker. The Iowa City 2024 quarterback was one of the best quarterbacks at the event throughout the weekend but he also turned around and did very well at the safety position. Larson is thought of very highly by our Iowa site as he's in the Top 50 for overall 2024 prospects and he's a top ten quarterback within the class and we can definitely see the talent at the quarterback position. So while technically, he was a two-way star as he played both sides of the ball, Larson was absolutely at his best on offense slinging the rock all over the field. Gilbert not only balled out while I was watching, he was noticed by other media members, writers, workers and even our security officer made a comment about him being the best guy out there. On offense, Gilbert was a freak at wide receiver, making some of the best catches throughout the weekend and he did it at a very high level and with consistency. Then he would turn around and be a lockdown cornerback, making plays there when he got the opportunities. Wilcox was one of the first players that we started noticing during pool play on Saturday. He's got great size at 6'4 and he was a match-up nightmare throughout the weekend. But he also turned around and played one of the safety positions and was making plays on defense. He grabbed our attention for what he did on the offensive side of the ball but his defense wasn't bad either. Then we talked with some of their coaches and this kid plays just about everything for his school and C4's quarterback is his high school teammate at Winsboro. The connection was working well.
