For those that aren’t aware the Hero Sportz Brand has tournaments set up throughout the country and top prospects from everywhere tend to participate. It was very well run organized event, what was most enjoyable was the competitive atmosphere that comes in place. Whether it was players, teams or coaches you love to see the passion on every play. I watched a number of games and had few standouts from the 15/16 group below:
Major upside for this kid who we already have ranked as one of the top 100 kids class of 2026. Brandon Way Jr. is a natural corner and you could see right away this past weekend the ability he possesses. Much like he was last Fall, this kid is never satisfied and is always striving to get better. He had himself a good afternoon locking down each team’s top target. Do not be surprised the jump he makes representing Lancaster Catholic this Fall, his family gene pool runs deep!
Highlights
So much potential Cobbold has, a 6’1 athlete who can play safety, corner and can throw! Yeboa makes plays as safety, you can see they knowledge he displays every time he is reading the opposing quarterbacks eyes. Lansdale Catholic should be excited for this kid, he really does seem to do it all. A rising freshman for the class of 2026, Cobbold is just scratching the surface of what he can accomplish.
Highlights
David Howe
David Howe
On a day where the wind was howling, really impressed with the way this sophomore to be threw the football. Saturday was the type of day where even one misstep could have resulted in overthrows by the quarterbacks. Howe was one of the few in his age bracket that did not seem affected by the weather as he calmly lead his team on numerous touchdown drives. Gainesville has a solid tradition and good program, no reason to think that Howe wont have a part in their near future.
Keiden Gutierrez
Keiden Gutierrez
Love to watch Gutierrez compete, he can be a special weapon for Patuxtent High School this coming season. Standing at 6’3 with a good frame and speed, this rising sophomore caught everything thrown his way Saturday. One of the first plays that caught my attention was a fade pass he hauled in diving down the sideline with the wind blaring in his face. I can attest and by now if you have seen the videos it was not an ideal weekend weather wise to be playing football, but to Gutierrez it did not matter. That pass he brought in alone showed me he is ready to take the next step come Fall 2023.
Samier Petit
Samier Petit
One of the best corners I saw all weekend was this young man as he constantly was challenging receivers on every possession. Petit is a rising freshman that will suit up for Woodbury High School out of New Jersey, I expect his name to climb the ranking boards come fall. Petit’s superb footwork and ball skills were on full display, particularly on Saturday as he came down with several key interceptions.
