Another Friday, another shout-out to the Freshman! We are here with the Eighth installment of our Freshman Friday series.
Here are 5 more 2026 prospects that are ready to step up big time!
Kaprice Keith Kaprice Keith 6'2" | 175 lbs | DB Bellevue West | 2026 State NE | RB/ATH | Bellevue West | 6’2″ 175 lbs
One of many exciting players in the electric 2026 Bellevue West class. Only a freshman, but Kaprice already has top-tier RB abilities, hands, and route-running like a receiver. One of Keith’s top assets is his insane vision and ability to find open lanes. When you add his vision with his elite speed, you end up with a player who is a threat to break out the big play any time he sees the ball. He’s also very tough to bring down, using his strength and balance to stay upright through contact. With his athleticism and versatility, it’s still hard to pinpoint the exact position he’ll play in college, but for now, you can expect the Bellevue West coaches to take full advantage of having this elite player.
Henry Chandler | QB | Skutt Catholic | 6’0″ 180 lbs
Skutt QB Henry Chandler was a nice surprise game tape submission. Henry had a very efficient season where he threw for 701 yards and 15 touchdowns on 80% completion and ended the season with a 158.3 QBR. What really stood out to me was his ability to extend plays with his legs, able to roll out, and make throws on the move. He also had a few plays where he was able to hang tough in the pocket and throw with pressure in his face. Chandler is a great natural athlete that can just as easily tuck the ball and take off when he doesn’t see any options open. He has a strong arm that can push the ball downfield and usually place it right on the money. Looking forward to watching Henry continue to develop. He has the tools to be one of the top guys in his class.
Elon Washington Elon Washington 5'6" | 125 lbs | WR Bellevue East | 2026 State NE | ATH | Bellevue East | 5’4″ 125 lbs
Elon is a player that caught my interest last summer at several camps where he used his fast twitch and lightning-quick feet to torch older, bigger DBs. Elon isn’t the biggest player on the field, but he can erase any size advantage with his quick change of direction and elusiveness after the catch. He also blew me away with how good his hands are. Elon does a great job tracking the ball and makes sure to follow through the entire catch process to secure the ball. I couldn’t find any tape from this season, but if he continues to build on what I saw last summer, he will be scary by his senior year.
Jett Herian | DB/ATH | Alliance | 5’10” 150 lbs
Alliance’s Jett Herian is an interesting 2026 prospect that could develop into several different roles. Jett saw a bit of varsity action, mostly on defense, but also went in for some QB snaps. The majority of his tape was defensive clips in which Jett looks like a promising young safety. He sees the field very well and can make quick decisions on where to go. Herian has the range to reach the sidelines and doesn’t mind stepping up into the box to help defend the run. He is still raw at QB, but with an offseason of work, I’m looking forward to seeing how Jett comes out in 2023!
Damani Allen | RB | Omaha Burke
Damani is an up-and-coming back that could make some noise once he gets to the varsity ranks. Despite suffering some injuries, the Burke back still shined in his time on the field. He displayed great burst at the line and acceleration when he hit the second and third levels. Allen is also an underrated receiving back who can catch defenses off guard coming out of the backfield. Damani also showed nice strength, especially in a few clips where he dragged players for a few yards after contact. Damani also had some nice tackles on defense, using his big frame to lay the wood. The Bulldogs are a young team, so Damani has a chance to push for some varsity time. Keep an eye out for this guy!
