One of the most difficult positions in all of sports to play is the quarterback position. To play the position in football powerhouse state of Texas just adds a spotlight on the quarterback position. In this article, we are going to examine five quarterbacks to keep an eye on this offseason. Spring football and 7-on-7 football will give us a sneak peek of what kind of 2023 season each prospect could have.

[player_tooltip player_id='276130' first='Graham' last='Knowles']-Southlake Carroll-6'6” 210-Pounds

At 6'6” and 210-pounds, [player_tooltip player_id='276130' first='Graham' last='Knowles'] has the size that college coaches like to have in a quarterback. Last season, Knowles was 7-1 as a starter for Carroll. He does not just lock in on one wide receiver but tends to spread the ball around. Knowles has the arm strength needed to fit the ball into some tight windows. Meanwhile, he does not loss accuracy when throwing the fade routes. Knowles has good mobility, and he will use it to extend plays to make the throw. Knowles will be a quarterback to watch for this upcoming season.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/13459823/638f6a96bd6b0e0364a122ec

[player_tooltip player_id='220167' first='Mason' last='Cochran']-Round Rock-6'2” 210-Pounds

[player_tooltip player_id='220167' first='Mason' last='Cochran'] has the size and the athletic ability that college scouts are looking for in a dual threat quarterback. From a passing perspective, Cochran has a strong arm and he can test the opposing defense with deep throws. He is an accurate passer that can fit the ball into some tight windows. Cochran's ability to throw the football while on the run is impressive to watch. Meanwhile, when Cochran decides to run the football he is difficult to bring down. Cochran has good speed and is shifty enough to escape tackles. Cochran is a quarterback to watch out for this season.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/15201932/619952313453c60bf4d68b63

[player_tooltip player_id='628988' first='Cash' last='McCollum']-China Spring-6'4” 210-Pounds

In 2022, [player_tooltip player_id='628988' first='Cash' last='McCollum'] went 15-1 on the season and led China Spring to the state championship. McCollum is a quarterback that has impressive accuracy on his throws. The China Spring signal caller threw for 3,201 yards and 37 touchdowns last season. McCollum has no trouble keeping the opposing defense honest with the deep ball. He is a quarterback that throws an accurate football and can fit it into some tight windows. McCollum does a good job of usings his legs to extend drives. The China Spring signal caller added 454 yards on the ground last season. The bottom line is that McCollum is a quarterback to watch out for during the 2023 season.

https://www.hudl.com/video/3/12019628/631d4370345316040cfc8ffa

Darius Bailey-DeSoto-5'11” 175-Pounds

DJ Bailey is a dangerous quarterback both running and throwing the football. He throws an impressive deep ball with plenty of accuracy. Bailey does a good job of moving the pocket and extending the play to make the throw down the field. The DeSoto signal caller does a terrific job of being able to fit the football into some tight windows. Bailey's accuracy and ability to throw receivers open helped lead to 45 touchdown passes on the season last season. I look for Bailey to continue his impressive play this upcoming season. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/13645564/63a2a704bee085142870c53c

[player_tooltip player_id='618266' first='Blake' last='Carr']-Clyde-6'3” 200-Pounds

[player_tooltip player_id='618266' first='Blake' last='Carr'] is another accurate quarterback that does a great job of spreading the ball around to his wide receivers. Carr threw for 1,460 yards and 15 touchdowns on the season in 2022. Meanwhile, he was not shy about carrying the football. Carr rushed for 509 yards and seven touchdowns last season. He knows when to escape the pocket and use his legs to pick up yards on the ground. From a passing perspective, he is an accurate quarterback and does a great job of connecting with his receivers in stride. Carr has the potential to have a strong season in 2023.

https://www.hudl.com/profile/14547132/Blake-Carr
