The class of 2025 running back series continued!

2025 5'9 175 RB - [player_tooltip player_id='505437' first='Zaire' last='Kennedy'] - Woodson

There are few running backs in all of the DMV that are as elite as [player_tooltip player_id='505437' first='Zaire' last='Kennedy']. He put up huge numbers in 2022, with over 1,000 yards rushing and 10 total touchdowns, and he was consistently ranked as a top five ball carrier throughout the season in the District of Columbia. Kennedy already has strong D1 offers from programs like Michigan, Missouri, and Akron, therefore it's clear that his continued dominance is no longer a secret. Woodson finished 3rd in the DCIAA last season, but, with [player_tooltip player_id='505437' first='Zaire' last='Kennedy'] commanding the backfield, my prediction is that the Warriors finish in the top two in 2023. Scouts everywhere must have [player_tooltip player_id='505437' first='Zaire' last='Kennedy'] and the Woodson Warriors on their radar.

2025 5'10 175 RB/WR - [player_tooltip player_id='505438' first='Cameron' last='Azodeh'] - Oxon Hill

Cameron “Ozgod” Azodeh is the only player with two offensive position designations on this list, and that's because, while he's listed as an RB, he's so talented as a pass catcher that it would be impossible to not list him as one. Azodeh hauled-in a jaw dropping 12 touchdowns on 17 receptions this year, and he added nearly 300 yards receiving as well. He also dominated out of the backfield all season long, as he finished the Fall season ranked top five in the state at RB. [player_tooltip player_id='505438' first='Cameron' last='Azodeh'] needs to be recruited very seriously because his potential is absolutely sky high. My way too early prediction is that Oxon Hill finishes the 2023 season with a winning percentage above .500% , and that [player_tooltip player_id='505438' first='Cameron' last='Azodeh'] runs his way to an All-Conference 1st Team honor.

2025 6'0 200 RB - [player_tooltip player_id='505439' first='Ian' last='Mauldin'] - Broadneck

[player_tooltip player_id='505439' first='Ian' last='Mauldin'] terrorized opposing defenses last year with his power running style, and he led the Broadneck Bruins to an undefeated 8-0 record in Anne Arundel County. Mauldin rushed for 1,023 total yards, averaging 7.2 per carry, and he added 15 total touchdowns on the season. [player_tooltip player_id='505439' first='Ian' last='Mauldin'] is in a great position to have his best season yet in 2023, and I have a strong feeling that a ton of offers will begin to roll in for him this Fall. The Broadneck Bruins are absolutely one of the top teams in the state as well, and I wouldn't be surprised if they finish in Maryland's top five with Ian Maudlin as their RB1.

2025 6'0 180 RB/LB - [player_tooltip player_id='372562' first='Tayshaun' last='Johnson'] - Perryville

If you're looking for a very elite two way player then look no further than [player_tooltip player_id='372562' first='Tayshaun' last='Johnson'] of Perryville. As well as dominating as a ball carrier, Johnson was one of the top young linebackers in the state last season, and he showed that his ceiling is through the roof. Perryville continues to be one of the premier programs in the Chesapeake Bay area, and I believe they can finish next season on top of the Susquehanna region. [player_tooltip player_id='372562' first='Tayshaun' last='Johnson'] is an integral part of both Perryville's offense and defense, and I predict that he finishes 2023 as a 1st Team All-Conference player. [player_tooltip player_id='372562' first='Tayshaun' last='Johnson'] definitely possesses D1 power five conference potential.

2025 5'8 175 RB - [player_tooltip player_id='264333' first='Montae' last='Royster'] - Milford Mill Academy

La[player_tooltip player_id='264333' first='Montae' last='Royster'] is a phenomenal athlete who is in a prime position to have his breakout season in the Fall of 2023. Royster ran for nearly 500 yards and 5 touchdowns during his first season, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if those numbers double in 2023. [player_tooltip player_id='264333' first='Montae' last='Royster'] will be the RB1 of a Milford Mill squad that was undefeated last season, and they have a very legitimate chance of keeping that dominant winning streak alive. Scouts everywhere must have their eyes on [player_tooltip player_id='264333' first='Montae' last='Royster'] and the Milford Mill Millers this Fall because they have something very special going on with their program right now.
