As expected, offers continue to roll out for peach-state prospects, and a few Atlanta-area prospects saw new offers recently come their way.
Chase Morrison Chase Morrison 6'4" | 240 lbs | DL Roswell | 2024 State GA – DE – Roswell
A three-star EDGE defender for the powerful Roswell Hornets, Morrison was tough to handle for opposing offensive lineman all season long last year in 6A, helping lead the Hornets all the way to the state semi-finals. The 6-foot-4 240-pound defender has easy D1 size and has earned some really impressive D1 offers after a fantastic junior season. He earned a new offer recently from Virginia, and it likely won’t be his last. Morrison was all over the field as a junior last year, making 109 tackles, 19 TFLs, 11 sacks, 10 QB hurries, and deflected four passes. He’s smart, instinctive, and plays the game the right way. He gets into the backfield with ease and has no problem plowing through blocks to make a play on the ball carrier. He’ll be one of the top EDGE defenders not only in 6A next year, but in all of Fulton County as well.
Raemon J. Mosby – DB – Westlake
A long, athletic cornerback with impressive ball skills, Mosby showed last year that in an area full of D1-caliber defensive backs, he was one of the best. Quarterbacks didn’t pick on him or throw his way often last year, but when they did, they were not completing a lot of passes. The 6-foot-0 175-pounder is a natural in coverage, shows quick feet, and showed Power 5 potential all season long. Now, the offers are flying in. With offers from North Carolina and App State already on the table, the Westlake defensive back saw an SEC offer come his way this week from Mississippi State. The Atlanta native closes well in coverage, covers a lot of ground, and knows how to separate the ball away from receivers. He knows his job, understands his role, and was a steady cornerback each and every Friday. With an SEC offer now on his resume, look for more to possibly come his way later this spring.
Khyair Spain Khyair Spain 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB Parkview | 2024 State GA – RB – Parkview
The state’s 2nd leading rusher among all juniors last season, it’s safe to say the 5-foot-9 190-pounder was an easy breakout running back across the state in 2022. The Gwinnett County standout ran through 7A defenses on a weekly basis last year and is finally starting to see some offers come his way, earning a new offer from Troy this week. Spain is a tough, physical, tackle-breaking back with some shiftiness to his game. He can make defenders miss in the open field and when he sees a hole, he knows how to burst through it. Running behind a massive, reliable offensive line, Spain does a great job of following his blocks, and when he gets into the second level, he’s tough to get down to the ground. Spain rushed for 2,383 yards and 16 touchdowns last season, proving he can play at the next level. Averaging just under 200 yards a game, Spain was without a doubt one of the best and most reliable backs across Georgia last year. Look for him to have another massive season as a senior in 2023 for a Parkview team loaded with talent.
CJ Jackson CJ Jackson 6'4" | 225 lbs | LB Tucker | 2024 State GA – OLB – Tucker
An elite pass-rusher off the EDGE and one of the top overall defenders in Georgia for the 2024 class, Jackson has the length, quickness, and motor that college coaches absolutely love. At 6-foot-4 225-pounds, the Tucker Tiger standout already looks like an SEC outside linebacker with an ideal frame for the position. Not only is he lightning quick off the ball, but his long wingspan allows him to shed blocks from opposing offensive tackles. He gets into the backfield in a hurry, and he knows how to get after the quarterback. He’s so tough to slow down, and if you don’t get rid of the ball quickly, Jackson is going to find the quarterback and make a play. A promising outside linebacker who can also help stop the run, he can chase the ball-carrier down with ease and gives everything he has until the whistle is blown. It’s easy to see thee potential he brings, and it’s led to offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, among others. He recently earned a new offer from Texas, adding another impressive offer to his resume.
