Continue ReadingJack has exceptional talent and recently put it on display at the 419 Football club. The first thing that stands out is his route running ability, as he knows when to get in and out of his breaks with impeccable timing. Not only will he create space, but Jack has excellent hands and see the ball well when it’s time to catch it. Last season is when everyone took notice, but this year will undoubtedly be his breakout season. He is a complete package wideout at the high school level, and I project him to be a first-team All-State WR in 2023. Jack collected over 1,300 all-purpose yards in 2022, and most of them came via receiving, fun player to watch in space.
Josh Takats
Josh Takats
Josh is not the brother of former star QB TJ Takats TJ Takats 6’5″ | 190 lbs | QB Perrysburg | 2023 OH ; it’s his cousin. Knowing that, you can expect Josh to bring the same pedigree to the football field. At camp, Josh is smooth on his feet during agility drills. I always look for the intangibles along with the athletic ability, and that commander vibe is natural for him. With limited varsity film from 2022, you can expect a total dose of Josh as he will be QB1 for Perrysburg this fall: tough runner and smooth passer, a player to watch in NW Ohio.
Brady had a phenomenal 2022 season as the full-time starter at Toledo Whitmer. As a sophomore, Brady got his feet wet versus some stiff competition, proving he belongs. Ford was able to show off his touch on his deep ball and his accuracy on underneath routes. Seeing Brady in person at the 419 Football club, you can see his gains from lifting have improved his arm strength and body mass. We live in the age of dual-threat QBs, and Ford is working on his speed and quickness as the next evolution of his game.
Highlights
Levelle Stokes
Levelle Stokes
Levell is a hidden gem in Northwest Ohio and the entire state. Stokes missed most of his sophomore season due to injury, but a few clips from last season shows off his explosiveness and athleticism. When I met Levelle this off-season, I had to check my notes because I didn’t remember him on the state run, but he will turn many heads this fall. Stokes is one of the region’s best route runners, and his hand-eye coordination is already next level. Seeing him for the past few months at camp shows me he has all-state potential, primarily because of his work ethic. A must-see player in 2023!
Dominick Woods
Dominick Woods
Dominick is a highly motivated 2025 prospect with D1 football in his gene pool. Dom’s father, Michael, played for Bowling Green State University and has played an enormous role in his development. Woods has been on my radar for a few years, but to see him work in person was impressive. Dominick has excellent lateral quickness as he crushed the shuttle drill and displayed quick feet in several other stations. Watching Woods run the jet sweep drill was very beneficial to see him be able to plant on his outside foot and get north from both directions too. This prospect has a lot of upsides and untapped potential on the defensive side with his athletic ability. Under the radar prospect, keep him on your watchlist, folks; he has talent!
