Continue ReadingA lot of freshman will be new to the field this season. They didn’t have the luxury of starting last year like some did. Now is their time to see some good time on the field. Here are some guys I think will see themselves helping their team a lot this year.
Jackson Hughes Jackson Hughes 6'3" | 260 lbs | OL State AL , OL, Thompson
Hughes is a big guy that definitely passes the eye test. He already has been out there showing what he can do. This will be the season that he has to step up to be a leader on their offensive line. This young man is going to be great at playing his position. He is a power five prospect. His size at 6-foot-4, 275-pounds helps him do his thing when he is in the trenches. Hughes is guy that we need to keep up with. He gets it done.
Jermaine McCree, DB, Williamson
McCree is a very polished defensive back. Watching his film I noticed that he does so many things well at his age. He closes on the ball quickly. McCree is aggressive when breaking up passes. He also does a good job of moving his hips when he needs to change directions. McCree is definitely a guy who has the skills to play on the next level. I would love to see him compete at a national camp. His highlights look very good. This young man is a stud.
Jemahd Mack, Central, DB
Mack is a guy that did a great job playing in his junior varsity season. He has some great things I saw on film that I think can help his varsity squad next season. Mack has some good hips. He has some very decent speed. We need to see how he does when he is playing against the varsity bunch. He is a guy I will be keeping up with.
Jayden Knox Jayden Knox 6'2" | 170 lbs | ATH Houston | 2026 State MS , WR, Houston (Miss)
Knox is a beast at receiver. This offseason he has been showing some great upside. Knox can go up to get the football with the best of them. What is most impressive is his will to gain weight. He has went from 160 to 173 since the season has been over. Knox is becoming a better route runner. He also has some good speed. The more he works on his releases, the better he will become. Knox is a division one prospect. Keep your eyes open for this young man.
