The past two years the top local St. Louis region standouts at the combine have been selected to play in the annual American Cancer Society All-Star game that happens in December. Here is a look at this years four standouts I selected to participate in the 2023 ACS All-Star game later this year.
Kendall Gurley
Kendall
Gurley

Francis Howell | 2024
State
MO
| 5’8″ 170 | WR/CB | Francis Howell |
The speedy Gurley is a playmaker on both sides of the ball and helped lead his Howell Vikings to a state championship in 2022 with his play as a lock down cornerback and slot receiver. At the combine Kendall tested exceptionally well, including running a 4.58 laser forty, having a vertical jump of 34″, a broad jump of 9’4″ and a 4.1 shuttle. He also was exceptional in the drills and one on ones following the testing. During his junior season he scored 11 touchdown receiving, rushing and in kick and defensive returns. As a lockdown corners he had 4 interceptions and 21 total tackles.
Bleyne Bryant

Bowling Green | 2024
State
MO
| 6’2″ 185 | ATH | Bowling Green
Bryant’s outstanding showing was not a surprise. I saw him standout last summer at a combine in Columbia where him put up impressive numbers. He also had a breakout junior season as a running back and linebacker where he had 52 solo tackles, 20 assisted tackles,15 TFLs, 8 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 forced fumble, and 3 pass break-ups. At the combine Bleyne ran a 4.6 forty, vertical jumped 34″, broad jumped 9’10” and ran a 4.5 shuttle. It’s no wonder he has picked up six D1 offers already from Wyoming, South Dakota State, Miami (OH) University, Ball State, Colorado State and Eastern Illinois. Bleyne also did a tremendous job in drills and one on ones.
Mason Burke
Mason
Burke
6'4" | 275 lbs | ATH
Wentzville Holt | 2024
State
MO
| 6’4″ 267 | DL | Holt |
Mason has been a promising athlete since he was a freshman playing primarily running back for the Indians but continued to grow to his present size of six-foot-four and almost 270 pounds while keeping his athleticism. He moved to defensive end during his junior season and excelled there but is really coming into his own as a defensive lineman. At the combine Burke rans 5.0 laser forty and vertical jumped 26″ while broad jumping 8’5″ and running a 4.9 shuttle. However, it was in one on ones against offensive linemen that he really excelled. Mason was unblocked in his reps and showed a continued improvement at the position with his technique and skills. He currently holds an offer from Murray State, but other schools will definitely come calling this spring, summer and during the season.
Bryce Parson
Bryce
Parson
6'3" | 280 lbs | OL
CBC | 2024
State
MO
| 6’3″ 292 | OL | CBC |
The athletic big continued to show his talents as an offensive lineman as well as his athleticism that has D1 schools lining up with interest and offers. Parson is nice combination of power and quick feet as a future interior OL on the next level. He rans a 5.2 laser forty and had a 21″ vertical jump but he was most impressive in drills and one on ones when he was undefeated against some good defensive line talent where he showed his very god pass pro skills technique.. Bryce has offers already from Northern Illinois, Ball State, Marshall, Lindenwood University and Northern Iowa. He will be entering his fourth year as a varsity starter.
