However, the lesser-known areas of Georgia contain some serious sleepers that are worthy of attention on the recruiting trail. Here, we take a look at the northern part of the state to find some of the best slept-on talents in the southeast.
Cal Faulkner – WR – 2025 – Lumpkin County
Faulkner was the leading receiver on one of the best teams in Lumpkin County history. He played both ways, but shows tremendous promise as a WR. Faulkner also shows tremendous promise on the basketball court, one of the state’s most productive players on the hardwood. There isn’t an area of his game that could be considered a weakness. He has good speed, shiftiness, body control, and is an extremely fluid athlete. He can take a screen to the house, showing great vision by weaving in and out of running lanes in the secondary. He can change direction on a dime, forcing defenders to readjust and match his ability. Faulkner is also a great athlete with the ability to go up and over defenders, which he shows numerous times on film. To be honest, I’m not sure there is a better-undiscovered prospect in the state. Faulkner has FBS upside and still has a few years to develop. You heard it here first.
Jensen Goble – WR – 2024 – Union County
1,000-yard receiver that shows some good explosiveness and physicality. A true slot WR with the ability to get open quickly and be utilized in numerous different ways. Goble possesses a low center of gravity which works in his favor as he is able to battle through contact to make some catches. He can accelerate and explode extremely quickly to create separation. He runs crisp and fluid routes, creating separation with one or two quick moves. For a smaller receiver, his ability to go up and over defenders and take the top off the defense is impressive. Goble’s speed and explosiveness alone is worthy of an opportunity at the next level. With a productive senior season, his stock should start rising on the recruiting trail.
Marcus Pike Marcus Pike 6'3" | 200 lbs | WR Pickens County | 2024 State GA – WR – 2024 – Pickens
Big and physical WR target that has produced at a high level for the past few seasons. Very sturdy 6’3 200 pound frame, almost built like a TE. As a result, he handles himself extremely well when fighting for leverage, can also lower his shoulder, and drive through defensive backs. He isn’t just a big target that can fight through traffic and come down with the ball, he is a fluid runner that changes direction well. His sneaky speed and movements allow him to create separation and find soft spots in the defense. His fluidity paired with his explosiveness allows him to get to the next level in a hurry, he is a very reliable deep threat with his combination of size and speed. Pike checks a lot of physical boxes and could be an instant impact player at the next level. It will be interesting to see the continued steps he takes as a senior.
Dominic LeBlanc – 2024 – WR – Dawson County
Explosive WR prospect that doubles as a pretty impressive kicker as well. Smaller, skinnier receiver that plays surprisingly well in traffic. He times his jumps perfectly and highpoints the ball over defenders, then rips the ball away with his strong hands. He has some decent speed and explosiveness with some quick feet, he gets off the snap quickly and can get downfield fairly quickly. LeBlanc is a top option on the deep ball, but he is also dangerous with the ball in his hands as he is fast enough to run away from the rest of the defense. LeBlanc is yet another receiver in the northern part of the state that could make some recruiting noise with a big senior season.
