2022 Season Result: 5A State Champion
Review:
The Rigby winning machine keeps on rolling as they are now the back to back state champions. After rumblings that this Rigby team was replacing to much talent from last years state championship team to be a viable state championship contender, they proved everyone wrong. That says so much about the program but even more about the players belief in each other, with all the doubters out there they banded to get, overcame a late season loss, beat some of the top teams in the state playoffs on their way to another state championship. It helps when you have the 5A state player of the year at quarterback, a junior who can really do it all. In front of him is one of the best offensive lines in the entire state with studs all over the line opening huge running lanes and allowing their quarterback to do what he does best with no pressure in his face. A running game that really had two talents backs that ran hard and were able to keep the offense balanced. On the outside they have some of the best weapons in the state with a senior who is going to play in college and a bunch of juniors who are ready to take up the mantle as dominant weapons. Defensively the Trojans are always physical and well coach. It helps when you have a disruptive defensive line that hold teams on the ground and really can create pressure for opposing quarterbacks. At linebacker they are always solid tacklers and thumpers who bring the physical prescenes to life for the defense. On the backend they are talented with some seniors graduating but were able to hold team on the edge every game this year. Rigby is the definition of consistency as they will be a favorite this year to win it all and it won’t be a surprise to anyone around the state this time around.
