Each 7v7 piece I’ve released thus far starts with my thoughts on the program’s quarterback play. I love my PA guys, that being said, Ben Newman Ben Newman 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB East Rochester/Ganada | 2025 State NY ‘s overall performance at the position had me thinking he was the best quarterback prospect present outside of the 18U BOOM passer. Consistent mechanically, consistent footwork that matched his eyes. Quick, seamless release that provided plenty of torque behind the football, yet minimal wind-up or hitch from the young man. Deadly accurate and on time in goal-line situations. I saw Newman throw open receivers, especially when targetting corner routes downfield. Newman understands that he should give his playmakers a shot to win one-on-one matchups, providing a catchable ball that only his target can come down with. Over anything, I’ve never seen a quarterback, an underclassman at that, call plays and have complete control of the offense in a 7v7 setting. Nothing impressed me more than his overt ability to lead in a hectic and chaotic setting like this one. Running the offense in its totality, even in this setting, could do wonders for a young quarterback’s development moving forward.
Marcus Snipes Jr.
Marcus Snipes Jr.
Pretty much equally as impressive as his older counterpart, Marcus Snipes Jr. was the first prospect out of this program that caught my eye. Again, I didn’t come into this prepared to write on any prospects outside of PA, yet the way this kid was firing rockets with complete confidence forced my hand. After my eyes fell on Snipes, I snowballed into learning more about Messiah Hampton Messiah Hampton 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Monroe | 2026 State NY , Ben Newman Ben Newman 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB East Rochester/Ganada | 2025 State NY , etc. I don’t see too many quarterbacks this young look this decisive. Snipes caught the snap, made a read, let the ball loose. Love his overall accuracy when targetting out-breaking routes. He’s got the depth perception and downfield accuracy to hit vertical shots deep. He flashed natural arm strength. He hardly pressed the issue, taking what was given underneath. I had to continue reminding myself that the young man is only a freshman. I’m excited to watch his game and body develop from afar.
I see why Caleb Holfoth and the New York guys are so fond of what Messiah Hampton Messiah Hampton 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Monroe | 2026 State NY brings to the table. Hampton put his name into the conversation for the best overall athlete at the event that had nearly 400 kids represented. I’m stunned the young man only has one offer out of Buffalo. His time will come. Hampton was an easy strider who always seemed to be open deep downfield. Even when Hampton was covered well, his high-pointing ability and body control negated any and all pass defense against him. I lost count of the number of back-pylon touchdowns this kid came away with. Long limbs make him an easy target along the boundary. I can tell from his performance alone that he’d be a special DB, his tape backs up that notion.

CTC’s most physically-imposing, arguably most-gifted pass-catcher. Tyrell Simmons Tyrell Simmons 6'3" | 190 lbs | WR University Prep | 2024 State NY made everything looks easy. Smooth transitioner in and out of his cuts, Tyrell Simmons Tyrell Simmons 6'3" | 190 lbs | WR University Prep | 2024 State NY consistently caught LBs and corners off guard releasing off the line of scrimmage. He ate up cushion a lot quicker than DBs expected, leaving open windows for Newman to target downfield. The kid looked every bit of 6’3, so Newman didn’t have to give the kid much room. He, much like Messiah Hampton Messiah Hampton 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Monroe | 2026 State NY , came down with pretty much every jump ball. Simmons served as an almost unguardable red-zone threat. Campbell, Buffalo, and Stony Brook have extended offers to the University Prep junior.

The three prospects above put forth solid outings too. Anthony Diaz Anthony Diaz 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR East | 2024 State NY was reeling in passes from Ben Newman Ben Newman 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB East Rochester/Ganada | 2025 State NY , catching digs and crossers in front of the sophomore quarterback. Noah Mather reeled in numerous balls from Marcus Snipes as well. Jayden Rapp Jayden Rapp 6'1" | 220 lbs | LB MILLIKAN HS Long Beach California | 2024 CA was part of an under-appreciated linebacker group that caught my eye, especially against the immensely talented BOOM program. I managed to catch some highlights on Twitter.
