MJ Spurlin MJ Spurlin 6'2" | 240 lbs | LB Jackson County | 2024 State GA – Jackson County
A heavy two-way athlete who made plays at both running back and linebacker, Spurlin is a back who runs with power on offense, and can deliver a blow at linebacker. He’s a heavy hitter at 6-foot-2 240-pounds and one of thee top overall players in the region last year. At running back, he’s a load to tackle, but his versatility stands out as well. He shows soft hands out of the backfield and was a reliable pass-catcher last season, hauling in 32 passes for 217 yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Spurlin ran for 748 and nine touchdowns. Defensively, the Jackson County standout made 40+ tackles and an impressive 12 tackles in the backfield. He’s a tough, gritty, physical football player who isn’t afraid on contact. Those are just a few reasons why he was added to the latest rankings, coming in at No. 92 in the state.
Matthew Fuller Matthew Fuller 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB Wayne County | 2024 State GA – Wayne County
A dynamic two-way player who did just about everything for Wayne County last year as a junior, the Jesup native was a big-time running back last season who had no problem turning around and becoming a tackling machine at linebacker. At 6-foot-0 200-pounds, Fuller was Wayne County’s leading rusher and tackler last season and made play after play each Friday night. He’s a smooth runner who can make people miss at running back, but he knows how to be physical as well. At running back, thee impressive defender took off for 1,757 yards and 22 touchdowns last year. Defensively, he was as reliable as it gets, making 90 total stops with an excellent 18 tackles for loss. He understands his role and gives it everything he has each play. He gives great effort and it showed off in the final box score. A versatile defender and one of the top linebackers in the area, Fuller also tallied 4.5 sacks last year, leading the team. He also picked off one pass and recovered two fumbles. He’s now ranked by Prep Redzone as the No. 119 player in Georgia with his stock still very much on the rise.
Cole Mullins Cole Mullins 6'4" | 240 lbs | LB Mill Creek | 2024 State GA – Mill Creek
helping lead the powerful Mill Creek Hawks to the 7A state championship last season, it’s easy to see why Mullins had a massive jump in the latest 2024 Prep Redzone Rankings. He’s started to see his recruitment take off over the last several weeks thanks to an outstanding junior season. Playing on an extremely talented Mill Creek defense, Mullins still found a way to make a massive impact playing both middle and outside linebacker at times. He’s put together physically at 6-foot-4 240-pounds who will likely continue to put on more good weight. He’s instinctive, plays hard, and finished the season with 58 tackles and an outstanding 10 TFLs. He also ended the season with an impressive six sacks, showing his ability to not only help against the run, but provide a pass-rush as well. The playmaking defender made a big jump in the latest rankings, now coming in at No. 46 in the state.
Justin Logan Justin Logan 6'3" | 210 lbs | LB Kell | 2024 State GA – Kell
One of the biggest breakout prospects in Cobb County so far this year, the instinctive and hard-nosed linebacker for the Kell Longhorns is a high-motor linebacker with a solid 6-foot-3 215-pound frame. The rising senior plays fast, understands the position, and can play multiple linebacker positions, making it easy to add him to the latest 2024 update, putting him at No. 83 state-wide. After an impressive 60-tackle junior season last year, the offers came in bunches last month, earning new offers from Arkansas, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, Missouri, among others. He’s physical enough to play down in the box as a middle linebacker, while having the length and natural ability to play outside and possibly make plays in coverage as he continues to develop there. He can get to the quarterback and does a nice job of blitzing from the inside or outside. He’s without a doubt one of the top linebackers to know about next season in Cobb County and will help lead the Longhorn defense as a senior.
