February Twitter Film Room Review – Session 2

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We take the time during the offseason to view film and evaluate players that we did not cover during the season. A Twitter post will be sent out over the next couple of months requesting players film for evaluation. I am doing a review of some of the players' film that was submitted after the first Twitter post.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='652726' first='Jalon' last='Watkins'] - OLB, 6'3" 195, Leesville Road HS</strong>. Jalon displayed good lateral movement and speed to cover ground quickly to close in on the ball carrier for stops. Jalon finished the season with 31 total tackles, 6 which were for losses. He had 12 solo tackles during the season. He is expected to be one of the leaders on the defensive unit during the upcoming season. The 2024 prospect will continue to improve his skillset as he gains valuable playing experience.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='264950' first='Cameron' last='Cornthwaite'] - WR, 5'9" 170 (No. 12 WR, No. 99 Overall), Apex Friendship HS</strong>. Cameron ran good short pass routes and separation from defenders to make catches. He displayed speed to accelerate past defenders in the open field for big yardage. He is an effective offensive threat at the Slot Receiver position. Cameron finished the season with 39 receptions for 415 yards and 2 TDs. He averaged 10.6 yards per catch during the season. Cameron had 4 carries for 49 yards and 1 TD. The 2024 prospect will continue to improve his skillset as he gains valuable playing experience.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='371947' first='Braden' last='Atkinson'] - QB, 6'1" 190 (No. 5 QB, No. 35 Overall), Rolesville HS</strong>. Braden delivered accurate passes on target from the pocket. He displayed the ability to throw accurate passes on target while on the run. He displayed good arm strength and follow-through on his throws. Braden completed 122 passes for 1,846 yards and 22 TDs. He averaged 184.6 yards per game and 15.1 yards per throw. He completed 58 percent of his passes along with 5 interceptions. Braden finished the season with a QB rating of 119.9. The 2025 prospect will continue to improve his skillset as he gains valuable playing experience.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='652727' first='Malik' last='Garrison'] - MLB, 6'1" 200, Mt. Tabor HS</strong>. Malik displayed patience to let the play develop before reacting to the play. He displayed good lateral movement and speed to close quickly on ball carriers for stops. Malik finished the season with 30 total tackles, 1 which was for a loss. He had 28 solo tackles during the season. The 2025 prospect will continue to improve his skillset as he gains valuable playing experience.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='652783' first='Tad' last='Johnson'] - OT, 6'2" 260, North Stanly HS</strong>. Tad displayed good footwork and technique to control defenders while drive-blocking them out of the play. He was quick out of his stance to make contact with defenders, while displaying upper body strength to control them. He is a technique-sound run blocker.
