About once a month, we’ll throw out a tweet and let y’all reply with your film. We’ll take a look a write about a few of our favorites. Today, I’ll start with some talented 2024s.
Jackson Parrish, 6′ 205, RB- Southern Alamance (2024)
The first thing that stands out about Parrish is his size and physicality. Parrish is a bruising runner that makes defenders pay for arm tackles. He has breakawya speed once he can get to the second level and capitalizes with a nose for the end zone. He had 22 touchdowns as a junior on just 152 carries and he’s a guy that can contribute at the next level as not just a short-yardage back but an every down player.
Jack O’Connell, 6’5 200, TE- Heritage (2024)
O’Connell is physically imposing and runs well for a player of his size. It’s difficult to get a good feel for his potential at tight end, because Heritage had some issues with quarterback health last season, forcing them into a 1-dimensional Wildcat offense. O’Connell is a willing and able blocker and has talent at the catch point. He just needs more opportunities on the offensive side of the ball. O’Connell excels in the classroom and could be a great fit for an academically rigorous school.
Braylon Canales Braylon Canales 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL Jay M. Robinson | 2024 State NC , 6’3 290, G/C- Jay M. Robinson (2024)
Canales loves to hit people. He has a nasty streak about him and a strong leg drive in the running game. He will occasionally lose his base, but has the balance to recover and a strong lower half. In the passing game he doesn’t reach often and stays balanced. I really like his film and I think he’s in for a big senior year.
William Holland William Holland 6'3" | 325 lbs | DL Laney | 2024 State NC , 6’2 325, DT- South Brunswick (2024)
Holland is a big-bodied nose tackle with a mean streak. He maintains good pad level and holds his ground at the point of attack. He uses his body well and excels against the run, flashing as a strong 2-gap defender. Holland not only holds up offensive linemen to allow his linebackers to make plays, but he also makes plays himself. I’m interested to watch him continue to develop next season.
Alex Jones, 6’3 225, DL/TE- Page
Jones plays as an undersized defensive tackle in Page’s system and gets off the line in a hurry. Jones knows how to get in the backfield and finishes tackles when he’s given the opportunity. I’d like to see him play some more on the edge, where I think he could really excel. If he continues to refine his game, he’s going to be a top player in the fall.
