The 2022 season offered a multitude of talented connections throughout the state that are surely eager to show off their skillset this upcoming fall. Without further ado, it’s time to check out the top QB-WR duos with the most chemistry heading into next season.
QB Austyn Modrzewski Austyn Modrzewski 6'5" | 205 lbs | QB Mountain Vista | 2025 State CO and WR Sean Conway Sean Conway 6'0" | 160 lbs | WR Mountain Vista | 2025 State CO , Mountain Vista
Nearly as good as peanut butter and jelly when it comes to infamous duos, these pair of Golden Eagles put on an aerial display that few teams could slow down in 2022. By the end of the season’s conclusion, this dynamic one-two punch accounted for a whopping 16 touchdowns. Whether it’s connecting with one another on the deep ball or dissecting a defense with underneath routes, the pair will look to continue to build off of their strong chemistry next year.
QB Logan Madden and WR Jackson Hansen, Ralston Valley
Next on our list of phenomenal QB-WR connections is a pair of stupendous athletes that certainly know each other’s every move. Amassing for over 778 yards together a year ago, Madden and Hansen will enter their final high school football season with a surplus of electricity out on the gridiron. Alas, be sure to keep your eyes peeled on how many balls these two connect with as the regular season progresses.
QB Rowan Risner Rowan Risner 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Fairview | 2024 State CO and WR Jordan Rechel Jordan Rechel 5'11" | 165 lbs | WR Fairview | 2025 State CO , Fairview
Certainly, it always helps to have the top-receiver in the entire state wearing your threads, and that’s exactly what Rowan Risner Rowan Risner 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Fairview | 2024 State CO is working with for the second consecutive season. Eventually, it became quite obvious that this was an explosive tandem that could not be stopped. Without a doubt, this duo has big-play ability that can change the tide of a game in a heartbeat and should be expected to do the same in 2023.
QB Ryken Daugaard Ryken Daugaard 6'2" | 175 lbs | QB Lutheran | 2024 State CO and WR Joe Ciccio, Lutheran
Get on your feet Class of 3A! Believe it or not, but one of the more exciting quarterback-wide receiver connections happens to reside in Parker where the Lions roamed supreme during the 2022 season. Although Lutheran’s state title dreams were dashed in heartbreaking fashion against Roosevelt in the state playoffs, the Lions should still be absolutely ecstatic that oppposing defenses will be ripping their hair out trying to find a way to slow down this lethal attachment that Daugaard and Ciccio possess.
QB Ryland Reetz and WR Jose Gonzales, Estes Park
Heading up north to the Rocky Mountains, Estes Park will prove to be no slouches especially on the offensive side of the ball. While the Bobcats will surely have a respectable running game, nothing will instill more fear into opposing defenders and defensive coordinators than these two ballers. Last season, it was Reetz and Gonzales who appeared to have a better connection than Batman and Robin, especially since the two were able to find the end zone eleven times together throughout the year. With both returning for their senior seasons later this fall, the sky is definitely the limit for this offense.
QB Adrian Rico and WR Ryan Bobick, Bear Creek
Last and certainly not least, one of the more intriguing and up and coming bonds through the air within the Centennial State happens to take place in Lakewood at Bear Creek High School. Whole Rico displayed to many viewers across the state, it happened to be Bobick who led the team with eight total receiving touchdowns. Now that the ultra-skilled wideout will serve as the number-one option among the receiving room, Bobick’s production should only accelerate with Rico looking his way on critical downs and in the red zone.
