We are going conference by conference so the 2022 state champs will get their own section next time around. Anyhow both Forest Park and Gar-Field qualified for the District playoffs in 2022 and return some rising juniors you will want to keep an eye on below:
The only other school in the Cardinal conference to finish with an above .500 record was the Forest Park Bruins. One of the reasons being was the play of this pass rusher Andrew Perry Andrew Perry 6’3″ | 210 lbs | DL Forest Park Woodbridge Va | 2024 VA . Perry was a force on the defensive line last year for the Bruins and he is very smart instinctive defensive end. He constantly watches the ball and rarely if ever gets fooled on play action or option plays. Currently he stands at 6’3 and 205 lbs. I would like to see add about 15 more pounds of muscle before the 2023 season. Once he does that there is no reason why FCS won’t come calling.

Joziah Campbell
Joziah Campbell
Campbell had a productive 2022 season for the Bruins, hauling in over 50 receptions he should be poised for a bigger role this year. He is a quick precise route runner who I would like to see more in Forest Parks vertical passing attack. They love to hit him on quick out routes or hitches, time for the Bruins to get this guy more involved on their passing tree. He has the size and speed (running a sub 4.5 40 already) to play in Division 2 or possibly at the FCS level. 2023 will be more about expanding his role in their playbook to make sure he does no go unnoticed. http://www.hudl.com/video/3/16255760/63ae1657b53ee4085010d06d
Alexander Labenow
Alexander Labenow
As a former lineman myself I really enjoy players like Labenow who make the most out of their ability. It does not matter if it’s a division 1 prospect he is lined up against Labenow will take them on and his technique is outstanding. Constantly watching his tape you could see where his like of size at times may hurt him up front, but the way he extends his arm, maintains good pad level that is not the case. Look for Division 2 and 3 schools to come calling his way he would be a perfect fit.

Abraham “ABE” Sey
Abraham “ABE” Sey
This was only his second year of playing football and boy did he not disappoint. So much raw ability out of him that is impressive the impact he has made already for the Redwolves. He plays the game with a high level of intelligence you can see it after every play whether it be run or pass. He rarely gets fooled and plays the game with a good level of physicality. The sky is the limit for Sey as he continues to tone up his craft, with an offer from Bluefield and interest from several FCS schools already, more are coming trust me.
