Continue ReadingRonnie Blossom Ronnie Blossom 6’3″ | 225 lbs | DL Warren Central | 2025 State MS is coming off an already impressive showing in his Sophomore campaign from the 2022-2023 season. He totaled 87 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 7 sacks in his first year of Varsity action. Blossom has all the makings of a match up nightmare in the form of a multi-faceted edge rusher, largely due to his skillset. Ronnie has a combination of speed and power that are uncommon in prospect this early on in their recruitment. He has a decent get-off and he understands spacing when rushing the passer. Ronnie is also proficient in hand fighting and using his long limbs to create separation from offensive linemen. Once he sheds from blocks, Blossom shows off his athleticism in tight spaces and the open field when stifling ball carriers. He was able display his skill set with a similar performance in the Mississippi Sport Association Magnolia Rising Sophomore’s All-Star Game. An outing that yielded MVP honors for the young prospect. This is only the beginning of Ronnie’s success on the gridiron. His Junior year will be were he cements himself as one of the top rated prospects in the state for his class.
As a Sophomore, 2025 prospect Garrison Davis Garrison Davis 5’11” | 190 lbs | QB Holmes County Central | 2025 State MS dazzled all year long for Ridgeland High School. In their 2022-2023 season, Davis was able to effectively disperse the football out to two of the best wide-out prospects in the state with ease. Garrison is dual sport athlete(Football & Baseball) that puts me in the mind of Kyler Murray in terms of his size, skillset, and capabilities. His concisely quick throwing motion and stellar footwork help keep the calm nature that Garrison holds in the pocket. Davis’s accuracy and ability to extend plays influenced me to asses him as a Kyler Murray with a little bit of Russell Wilson. He was able to throw for nearly 2500 yards in his Sophomore season, while posting an impressive 27 touchdowns to 9 interceptions. That impressive 3 to 1 touchdown to interception ratio helped propel the Titans to a 7-4 record. Despite falling short off playoff contention, Davis proved that he had more than enough talent and fervor to lead a team in just his 10th grade year. I’m expecting Davis to get faster and stronger this season upon the conclusion of baseball season. Look for him to see interests from programs in the next year.
Highlights
Will Hampton Will Hampton 6’4″ | 290 lbs | OL Petal | 2025 State MS is a offensive lineman out of Petal with huge upside who is trending upwards in term of his individual development. The soon to be Junior is a tank with legs that can bend extremely well for his size. Hampton is an exemplary physical specimen that can already power clean up to 275 pounds. On run plays Will displays favorable pad level and the ability to out leverage opponents with technique and will. This sentiment serves true even if Will finds himself in an unsuitable position. He finishes blocks well and takes pride in moving defenders in order to create opportunities for his teammates. I was mostly impressed at how superlatively polished Hampton’s pass set and pass-blocking demeanor were on tape. He is surprisingly nimble at 6’5 275, and his arms and hands work well in concert with his feet to create strike force on his punch. Will’s determination, technique, and skill-set allowed him to complete blocks and compete at a high level this past year. This fall, I expect him to be a force in the trenches for Petal. His stock will gradually rise over the off-season as long as he promotes himself. Will Hampton Will Hampton 6’4″ | 290 lbs | OL Petal | 2025 State MS will be one of the more sought after Offensive Line recruits in the state relative to his class.
Zadarran “Zay” Hart is a 2025 prospect out of St. Joseph (Madison) who has shown the makings of an exemplary football player. His approach to the game and how well he understands his position is what stood out to me, offensively and defensively. The 5’10 165 pound WR/S does not wow you in terms of measurables such as speed, stature, or explosiveness, true enough. However, there is a smoothness and fluidity to his game that you rarely see in prospects his age. Hart is an above average route runner, but he is adept to using his routes to create space when working against man coverage. He has limited tape on the defensive side of the ball, but I believe that he can develop into a reliable Defensive Back as well. This summer will be pivotal for Zay and how his career path will be shaped. I look for Zay Hart’s production to increase this fall with 2023 prospect Carter Walker exiting and moving on to better things. If Hart can get in the lab and work on his craft, there is no doubt in my mind that him and 2025 prospect Emile Picarella will be a treacherous tandem in the next couple of years.
