As this offensive uptick is nothing short of a hill, further analyzing this growth in these prospects is a peek into what the next two seasons can look like for them.
Jackson, a crucial part of Villa Angela St. Joseph’s offense had a season nothing short of successful this past fall. Within his success as a RB he ran for multiple TD, some topping around 95/ 80 yds. Jackson’s athletic ability at 6ft 200 sets him apart and allows him to find gaps in his opposing defense. Once he finds these gaps Jackson is a challenge to stop with his speed and agility. Not only offensively but these skills are utilized when he’s on the other side of the ball as well. I am really excited to see where Jackson goes in these next two seasons, making him one to watch in the off-season!
Kattus, sitting a 6’5 285 dominates in the OL position. Utilizing his size and his strength Kattus’ proficiency at the left tackle position is textbook. Creating space for the RBs in designed plays, taking control of the opposing defensive lineman, as well as ample protection for St. Xavier’s QB. Kattus is one to watch as he gets back to the grind this season and I look forward to his future seasons.
Steuball of Villa Angela St. Joseph high school is an elite QB. Not only is Steuball’s throwing proficiency excellent but his athleticism overall is something to watch. Versatility is a huge component of Steuball’s playing strategy, apart of that running parallel to his athleticism. Steuball has tremendous awareness of his opposing defense. In addition, this awareness of the ball and his receivers has progressed Steuball from what we saw in this last season. I am eager to see where Steuball takes this lead of his offense in the off-season and how that’s going to be used in the near future.
Stuewe, a prime WR of Avon Lake high school is definitely one to watch this off-season. He has proven his strength against many defensive backs in the previous season as well as was dependable on many routes the offense ran. Stuewe’s playing style and awareness of the ball is essential to his accuracy. In addition to this receiving accuracy, Stuewe has also been utilized as a punt returner due to his speed in both positions. The next two high school seasons will be two of growth for Stuewe and I cannot wait to see it!
Highlights
Smith, in the previous season having 400 yards, 4 TDs, and many key receptions is an offensive beast. While able to bounce between both WR and TE positions sitting at 6’6 205, no matter which he is playing is one to watch. Smith shows amazing speed considering his height as well as blocking and catching proficiency at the TE position. His offensive talent makes it hard on defenses when matched up with Smith. I’m excited to see what the future holds for Smith in the next two seasons!
