Matheson is a big play threat any time he lines up on the outside. He gets behind defenses constantly with his impressive route tree. Matheson does a great job adjusting to passes, whether it’s turning his body in the air or slowing down to make a big grab. After the catch, he’s one of the state’s most dangerous players. He can go through defenders with a nasty stiff arm or around them with his quick change of direction skills. Matheson is great in the screen game, where he does an excellent job following his blockers and routinely slips out of tackles.

Brown is one of the state’s best athletes, regardless of position. His rare combination of size and speed makes him tough to contain in the passing game. Brown racks up yards after the catch with his strong frame, making it difficult for defenders to bring him down. In addition, he makes quick cuts and impresses with devastating breakaway speed. Brown is also among the state’s best at hauling in 50/50 balls. He can outleap most players to bring in passes, making contested catches look easy. Brown is also a tremendous defensive end making him a two-way force for the Rams.

Deucher wins right off the snap with his textbook releases. He isn’t fazed by physical corners and loves to throw around defensive backs in the screen game to help his teammates make plays. Deucher does a great job tracking passes and will sell out to make tough grabs. The Bulldogs receiver also possesses an elite vertical that helps him high-point passes on deep shots and in the red zone. He can move the chains on third and long and take the top off a defense. In addition, Deucher has excellent hands and works to keep plays alive when they break down.

John was a key to the 2022 5A State Champion Pioneers’ success. He broke defenses with 459 yards and four touchdowns in 2022. John can run any route in the book and truly shines running complex deep routes. Defenses have a hard time tracking him down after the catch when he turners on the jets. John does a great job making defenses think he’s going one way before he comes out his breaks in the opposite discretion. He always shows up when his team needs a big play and is as sure-handed of a receiver as you will find in Utah.
