Let’s take an early look at the some of the prospects to look out for.
Steele Barben: QB || 6’1 || 170lbs || Crimson Cliff || c/o 2024
Barben helped lead the Mustangs to the 4A State Championship while throwing for 2,856 yards and 39 TDs. His poise in the pocket along with good vision to see the field and accuracy to hit his target has made him a top player to watch in the 4A Class. Although the Mustangs came up short to winning it all, look for them to bounce back next season and having a quarterback like Steele Barbern to give them a chance as he will only get better from last season’s success.
Casey Crofts: QB || 6’0 || 170lbs || Mountain Crest HS || c/o 2024
Crofts returns as one of the Top QBs in the 4A Class and looks to build on a season that gave the Mustangs a chance at the 4A State Championship. Although they came up short, Crofts will look to be one of the top leaders on the team to get the Mustangs another shot at it. He’s an athletic player with good accuracy to hit his target on short routes. Also has the mobility to move around the pocket , throw on the run and extend plays with his legs. Look for Crofts to have a productive year next season.
Nate Dahle: QB || 6’0 || 160lbs || Ridgeline HS || c/o 2026
Dahle had a productive debut last season as the River Hawks starting QB. The athletic lefty has the arm strength to deliver the deep ball and accuracy to hit his target on short and long routes. Good mobility to move around the pocket, throw on the run and extend plays as a runner. Dahle’s time under center is just getting started and you will want to take a look at him next season.
Gerritt Grondel: QB || 6’1 || 180lbs || Hurricane HS || c/o 2025
Grondel will to look to build on a sophomore season that will help get the Tigers deep in the playoffs. An athletic player with arm strength to hit sideline and deliver the deep ball. Good accuracy to hit his targets and mobility to move around the pocket, escape pressure and throw on the run. Grondel will be one of the top players for the Tigers to keep an eye on next season.
Keaton Pond: QB || 6’0 || 180lbs || Logan HS || c/o 2024
Pond returns as the Grizzlies starting Quarterback and will look to have a productive senior season. An athletic player with mobility to move around the pocket, throw on the run, and escape pressure. Has good accuracy to hit his targets and long and short routes. Pond will look to be the leader as the Grizzlies make a deep tun the playoffs next season.
