Updated 2024 Rankings – Stock-Risers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The review of the updated rankings was released a day ago. There are several talented players who had impressive performances throughout the season. I am doing a review of 6 players who moved up in the players rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='265789' first='Jason' last='Mcneilly'] - DL, 6'2" 230 (Previous No. 9, No. 5 DL, No. 42 Overall), Shelby HS</strong>. Jason displayed good technique and good use of hands to control blockers while moving past them for stops. He was one of the leaders on one of the state's top defensive units. Jason finished the season with 64 total tackles, 14 which were for losses. He finished the season with 22 solo tackles and averaged 5.3 tackles per game. Jason has established himself as one of the top defensive linemen in the state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='357813' first='Jayden' last='Ferguson'] - LB, 5'11" 190 (Previous No. 22, No. 4 LB, No. 45 Overall), Millbrook HS</strong>. He stepped up his performance on the field throughout the season to established himself as one of the top linebackers in the class. Jayden finished the season with 98 total tackles, 18.5 which were for losses. He finished the season with 61 solo tackles and averaged 6.5 tackles per game. Jayden was one of the leaders on one of the state's top defensive units. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='297899' first='Payton' last='Wright'] - LB, 5'10" 185 (Previous No. 21, No. 6 LB, No. 47 Overall), Eastern Alamance HS</strong>. Payton is a high-energy player who makes a high number of tackles per game. He has established himself as one of the top linebackers in the class. Payton finished the season with 177 total tackles, 7 which were for losses. He finished the season with 99 solo tackles and averaged 13.6 tackles per game. Payton is amongst the top total tackles' leaders in the state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='314163' first='Eagan' last='Boyer'] - OL, 6'8" 240 (Previous No. 4, No. 1 OL, No. 1 Overall), Hough HS</strong>. Eagan graded out at 90 percent for blocking for the season. He displayed great technique and footwork to control defenders while opening lanes for the running backs. He stepped up his performance on the field throughout the season to establish himself as the top offensive linemen in the class. Eagan has a massive wing spread and he uses it to his advantage to control defenders. He has received several Power5 offers and there are more to come. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='304875' first='Javontae' last='Poteat'] - DL, 6'0" 250 (Previous No. 10, No. 6 DL, No. 43 Overall), Eastern Alamance HS</strong>. Javontae displayed good technique and good use of hands to control blockers while moving past them for stops. He stepped up his performance on the field throughout the season. Javontae finished the season with 63 total tackles, 13 which were for losses. He finished the season with 32 solo tackles. Javontae has established himself as one of the top defensive linemen in the class. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='117630' first='Isaiah' last='Jones'] - RB, 5'11" 175 (Previous No. 4, No. 2 RB, No. 20 Overall), Rolesville HS</strong>. Isaiah was consistent in his performance on the field and stepped it up as the season progressed. He finished the season with 154 carries for 1,122 yards and 11 TDs. He averaged 93.5 yards per game and 7.3 yards per carry throughout the season. Isaiah followed his blockers while looking for an opening to accelerate past defenders in the open field for yardage. He is tough and durable to run inside for tough yardage. Isaiah was one half of a running back combo where both backs rushed for over 1,000 yards this past season. He has established himself as one of the top running backs in the class. He has received a Power5 offer. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
