The game has become extremely pass-happy and teams typically need to be four-to-six athletes deep on the outside to keep guys fresh and dangerous on the outside. Here’s a look at some of the Wide Receivers we liked at the PRZ Next Texas camp and could blossom into those key playmakers.
-One of three sons of former 2nd round pick and NFL 10-year NFL Vet Terrance Shaw, who attend the camp in Texas
-Gave up considerable size, even for a class of 2028 prospect (seventh-grade this year). He measured in at just 5-foot-2 and 100-pounds, but he had Defensive Backs on roller skates the entire camp
-While his testing numbers were pretty good, he came alive during drills. Plays and buzzes around the field with exceptional energy. Effort never faltered for a second and he made a lot of Defensive Backs pay for judging him by his size
Highlights
-Earned himself a spot on the 2027 National Watch List with a great performance at the camp. He was impressive even with an extremely deep group of Wide Receivers
-Very well-put together athlete with rounded, capped shoulders and strong hands. He was able to reel in some tough balls in traffic and also pull in a couple errant passes with just his finger trips
-Despite measuring in a little shorter than anticipated (officially 5-foot-10 and 170-pounds), it made him a slam dunk as a Slot. Explodes out of his stance and runs phenomenal short-to-mid routes with lively suddenness in and out of his breaks

Jacob Laque
Jacob Laque
-Like Tierney Shaw Tierney Shaw 5’2″ | 100 lbs | ATH TX above, Laque put a lot of Defensive Back’s in their place for overlooking a smaller Wide Receiver. Measured in at just 5-foot-4 and 118-pounds but made plays like a giant
-Nothing crazy about his combine testing numbers, they were pretty normal. However, kid played mean and aggressive–which isn’t how your average Wide Receiver plays
-Was one of several kids from Brewer Middle School that came out to the camp and impressed. At this point I’m not sure how high his ceiling is, but he did a nice job at camp
-Hails from the feeder program to one of the most consistently successful programs in the country, the Southlake Carrol Dragons
-Checked in at 5-foot-6 and 133-pounds and was hand-timed at a 5.15 in the forty yard dash. Both measurements aren’t jaw-dropping, but Schleif is another kid who came alive when it was time to compete
-If putting these prospects in a bucket, he had a similar showing to Braxton Wambach Braxton Wambach 5’11” | 180 lbs | WR Frisco Lone Star | 2027 TX at camp. While he’s not going to run away from Defensive Backs in a foot race, he could shake them with relative ease. There’s certainly some potential here to become a productive high school weapon
