With some strong performances, several prospects put themselves on the radar, making a name for themselves. Here are some of the top QB performers from the PRZ Georgia Showcase.
Rodge Waldrop Rodge Waldrop 6'5" | 205 lbs | QB Brookwood | 2024 State GA – 2024 – Brookwood School
Waldrop was without a doubt one of the most physically impressive prospects at the event. He has a massive frame at 6’5 200 and showed outstanding mechanics and body control for a bigger guy. He has a smooth lefty release and fluid hips. From the top down, everything is in sync with little to no wasted movement. Waldrop’s arm talent was eye-opening, showcasing some tremendous velocity on his throws, even while on the run. Waldrop showed the ability to attack all levels of the field and add some touch on the deep ball. Extremely intriguing QB prospect that checks all of the physical boxes.
Jared Echols – 2024 – Alexander
Echols was one of the more underrated signal-callers coming into the event, but he showed out enough to put himself on the radar. Echols showed some really impressive poise and consistency throughout the entire event. He has excellent balance in his delivery and is extremely fluid from the waist down. Echols has a quick release and throws the ball with some nice spin on it. He shows great anticipation and touch on his throws, often placing the ball just out of reach of the defenders. Clearly, a well-coached QB that has developed nicely for his age.
Michael McClellan Michael McClellan 6'4" | 210 lbs | QB Johns Creek | 2024 GA – 2024 – Johns Creek
Yet another physical specimen at QB that has some very impressive qualities as a passer. Has great body control and is a fluid passer with a quick release. Stepped into all of his throws and uses his lower body well. Can make throws all over the field, but I was impressed with his ability to rip the ball over the middle of the field and into tight coverage. As a prospect, McClellan has shown tremendous growth over the last few months and continued to raise his stock with a solid performance at our showcase.
Austin Guest Austin Guest 5'11" | 185 lbs | QB Creekview | 2025 State GA – 2025 – Creekview
Guest was the top tester of the QB group, showing some explosiveness by clocking in a 4.72 40-time. He is a tremendous athlete for his age with a stocky, RB-like build. Is very accurate on the run and does a great job of squaring up his hips before he throws. Has good mechanics in the pocket, throwing with all of his cleats on the ground. Impressed with his touch on the deep ball, throwing the ball with beautiful trajectory right into the arms of receivers and out of reach of DBs. Well-rounded QB prospect that showed a lot of physical upside.
