University of Oklahoma signee Jackson Arnold Jackson Arnold 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Denton Guyer | 2023 State TX , from Denton Guyer, finishes the season as the number one ranked quarterback, after leading Guyer to a semifinal appearance and winning the Elite 11 competition this past summer. But today’s focus will be on several quarterbacks who used the 2022 season to elevate their games, as well as raise their stock.

Wilson has been one the most productive quarterbacks in Texas high school football for three years. The three year starter was Newcomer of The Year in District 4-6A in 2020 and he was Offensive Player of the Year of District 4-6A in 2021 and 2202. For his career he passed for 9,189 yards, 103 touchdowns, his total yards from scrimmage of 9,995 are the most in Byron Nelson history, to along with 116 total touchdowns. Jake led his team to the third round of the playoffs for the second straight season, putting up phenomenal numbers to the tune of 4,588 total yards with 58 total touchdowns. Wilson stands tall in the pocket, he navigates the pocket with quiet feet, he has a quick release, he sees the field well and he has the arm strength to fit the football into small windows. Jake has the athleticism when the rush gets home to use his legs to move the chains, which makes him a threat on the ground. How he has only two offers, Western Illinois and Houston Christian, is mind boggling. Wilson will find a home before signing day in February.

Dubose has put together a stellar career at Brennan down in San Antonio passing for over 9,000 yards. Ashton has a strong arm, he has the ability to make throws from multiple platforms and has great touch on his deep ball. He navigates a muddy pocket with calm, quiet feet, he keeps his eyes down field as he searches for his target and has the athleticism to escape the rush and throws with accuracy on the run. Dubose is electric in the open field, he is a twitchy player,, who has the speed to make a house call, which allows him to move the chains routinely. In his most recent outing at the San Antonio All-Star Game, he tossed a couple of touchdowns and dazzled the defense with his ability to extend the play. Dubose has offers from Fordham, Austin Peay, UTSA, Northwestern State (LA), Houston Christian, SAGU and Texas College. He has plenty of interest and will no doubt find a home when signing day returns in February.

Hatter finished this past season ranked number eight in the Prep Redzone quarterback rankings after a stellar senior season. He lead Westfield to a 12-2 season, which resulted in a 14-6A district title and they advanced to the 4th round of the playoffs, where the Mustangs lost to eventual state champion Duncanville. Preston lit defenses up by throwing for 4,050 yards, 55 touchdowns and he rushed for 820 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. He was voted District 14-6A MVP. Hatter has a quick release, he engages his lower half routinely to get power on his throws, he navigates the pocket with no panic and he can deliver the football from multiple arm angles with accuracy. When the pocket breaks down Preston is at his best, using his ability to evade the rush and escape routinely to move the chains. He has the athleticism to be a threat in the RPO run game and the speed to separate from defenders. Hatter will take his exciting brand of football to the SWAC, after he committed to Jackson State University in December.

Greek helped lead Ferris to the second round of the playoffs and second place finish in District 4-4A DII. He turned in a stellar senior campaign throwing for 3,923 yards with 42 touchdowns, while rushing for 277 yards and 7 touchdowns. Greek passes the eye test standing at six foot five and weighing in at two hundred twenty five pounds. Greek can spin it, he has a powerful arm with a quick release, he has the arm strength to make all the throws on the route tree and he has excellent touch on his fade ball. He uses his powerful trunk to get plenty of hip torque on his throws. Nathan uses his athleticism to climb the pocket while eluding the rush and he routinely makes accurate throws on the move. Greek completed sixty one percent of his passes in 2022. Greek has garnered interest from several schools including Alabama A&M, Southern Miss, and Virginia Tech. Greek will definitely have a collegiate home when the February signing day comes around.
Gunner McElroy Gunner McElroy 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Peaster | 2023 TX | Peaster | 6’2 185 | Twitter: @GunnarMcElroy
McElroy has been making noise out at Peaster for the last two seasons. This season he passed for over 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns. Gunner has a lean build, he has the arm strength to push the football down field and he throws well on the run from multiple arm platforms. McElroy has the speed to blow by defenders when he breaks the pocket or runs the football on designed runs. His pocket presence and awareness enables him to beat the defenses consistently. Gunner is a gunslinger, he plays under control and has no panic in his game. Small schools have come to Peaster looking to offer him a chance to play at the next level, including Northwestern Oklahoma State, Wayland Baptist, Culver Stockton and Howard Payne.
