It is not very often that you find the top wide receivers in a single classification from the same school and program.

But in Class 3A this past fall, that is the case.

Harlan's [player_tooltip player_id='247962' first='Cade' last='Sears'] and [player_tooltip player_id='104715' first='Aidan' last='Hall'] put together quite the season, combining for almost 100 catches and over 1,700 yards. They also caught 29 touchdowns, helping the Cyclones to another state title.

But the state had other standouts, as well, and we honor those players here.

First Team - [player_tooltip player_id='247962' first='Cade' last='Sears'] - Harlan - Junior

What a season it was for [player_tooltip player_id='247962' first='Cade' last='Sears'], as the ultra-talented junior caught 46 passes for 973 yards and 15 touchdowns. Pairing himself with an offense loaded across the field, Sears averaged an incredible 21 yards per catch.

Sears was also effective as a returner, posting 16 yards per kickoff return and 9.4 on punt returns with a TD.

Second Team - [player_tooltip player_id='104715' first='Aidan' last='Hall'] - Harlan - Senior

The future University of Iowa Hawkeye, [player_tooltip player_id='104715' first='Aidan' last='Hall'] did it all for Harlan, helping them finish off an incredible two-year stretch with a state title. Hall caught 51 passes for 837 yards and 14 scores, averaging just over 16 yards per catch.

Hall also led Harlan with 810 yards and scored 17 rushing touchdowns, recording 27 tackles on defense with a pair of forced turnovers. He also averaged 69 yards per kickoff return with two of his three attempts resulting in TDs, and 36.5 yards per punt return.

Third Team - Colton Rasmussen - Atlantic - Junior

Atlantic's Colton Rasmussen will have a fun little battle with [player_tooltip player_id='247962' first='Cade' last='Sears'] next year for the top wide receiver position. The 11th-grader caught just 38 passes this past fall, but they covered 762 yards and went for 12 touchdowns. He boasted a 20-yard per catch average.

Honorable Mention

Maquoketa's Carter Meyer, Nevada's Kyle Kingsbury, Mount Vernon's Evan Base and Gilbert's Owen Wirth were among a large list of players who surpassed 600 yards receiving. And while they didn't have that many receptions, Fairfield's Tallon Bates and Benton's Sam Wallace averaged over 20 yards per catch.
