Henry Nelson
Henry Nelson
Nelson is all of 6’2″ as a freshman signal caller, who has elite arm talent going into his sophomore year. Watching him on tape it will be the first thing that you notice is how fast the football gets out of his hand. Can make all the throws even at the varsity level. Nelson shows good anticipation and accuracy to go along with the rocket arm that he posses. Flashes the ability to extend plays with his legs but is not your typical dual threat quarterback. Stands tall in the pocket and plays with extreme confidence while also having the ability to diagnose quickly. Nelson has a slight frame that could easily add good weight and show enough athletic ability to develop into a good runner. Played some varsity snaps for Mountain View this season and should be one to watch out for as he moves into his sophomore year.
Gianni is a tackling machine and play significant snaps for Eagle this season. An outside linebacker who really has the ability to run. Uses his speed and quickness to his advantage as he sheds blockers using angles. Read and reacts quickly while having a good nose for the football. Always seems to be in the right place at the right time. He posses a extremely quick trigger that allows him to beat blockers to the spot and make impact plays. A sure tackler that does not shy away from contact. As he continues to get bigger and strong he will keep making impact plays. His biggest ability might be in coverage as he is able to match up with a host of different players.
Highlights
Nic Maloff
Nic Maloff
Maloff is massive body and presences on the offensive line for Meridian. He uses that big frame and strong arms to absolutely destroy defenders at the line of scrimmage. A strong first step that allows him to play with good leverage his down block is devastating. Understands angles in order to cut off scraping linebackers and runs his feet on contact. Quick off the football with devastating hand punch that gets defenders off balance that leads to pancakes. Still improving in his pass pro but has long arms and does a good job with his base. Should be one of the top offensive lineman in his class in the years to come.
Noah Burnham
Noah Burnham
Burnham is a speedster plain and simple. The young running back can flat out fly, he really made an impact in his first year for the Mustangs. After being brought up he did nothing except impress everyone around the 5A SIC. Burnham has great vision along with an ability to set up his blocks. Extremely tough who was asked to block much larger players in Eagles triple option offense. Has game breaking ability and can catch the football out of the backfield. Burnham has route running capabilities that will allow him to be split out and used in a variety of packages. Should have a huge sophomore year for the Mustangs.
Jax Tanner
Jax Tanner
Tanner is another freshman who people should look out for. Starting on what was called the best offensive line in the state of Idaho, Tanner made a name for himself. Just a freshman Tanner uses a solid base with a powerful first step to knock defenders back. Quick off the football and takes good angles up to the second level. Has a great anchor in pass protection and rarely gets knocked off balance. He is a long levered athlete that is able to hold his ground against bigger players and quick enough to get in front of faster players. Could end up being the best offensive lineman in his class.
Will Sachse
Will Sachse
Sachse plays for one of the top 4A programs in the state. He is an athlete in all sense of the word, playing TE, RB, and Defensive Back. As a sophomore he shows good burst in the open field along with soft pass catching hands. He shows the ability to block much larger players with good lower body strength. On the defensive side of the ball he shows the ability to have a smooth back pedal and change of direction. A sure tackler who is not afraid to mix it up with anyone. Sachse should have a really good junior season coming up for the Knights.
