There's not much question where a lot of the 2024 talent is in the Upstate.

It's outside the hash.

Five game-breaking receivers from the area currently occupy spots in the Prep Redzone rankings, and each offers a dynamic set of skills.

[player_tooltip player_id='163871' first='Mazeo' last='Bennett Jr'], Greenville, ATH

Bennett is listed as an athlete, but make no mistake, his biggest contribution is at wide receiver. He does a lot for the Red Raiders and does it well. He caught 47 balls for 857 yards, and added 220 yards on the ground. He had 21 total touchdowns, many of them of the "did you just see that?" variety.

[player_tooltip player_id='139296' first='Jimmar' last='Boston'], WR, Westside

Boston was a huge target for the Rams, hauling in 34 catches for 699 yards and seven TDs. He's got great hands and has the ability to make people miss on short routes, but a lot of Boston's numbers come from pure speed. He's just able to run past defenders. He makes a ton of plays by beating coverage in the middle of the field, letting his speed turn up the pressure on the defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='267431' first='Avery' last='McFadden'], Hillcrest, WR

McFadden is another burner with all the tools. He led Hillcrest in receptions and receiving yards, with 69 catches for 1,133 yards and eight scores. He was a special teams force as well, with 678 total return yards and four return TDs.

[player_tooltip player_id='448976' first='Chase' last='Byrd'], Greer, WR

Byrd hauled in 57 catches for 884 yards and 10 TDs for the Yellow Jackets, and became their go-to receiver. He plays MUCH bigger than he's listed, and isn't afraid to be physical. He's also got blazing speed and great hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='139314' first='Josh' last='Williams'], Westside, WR

Another target for Westside, Williams was the Rams' leader in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns, with 42, 883, and 10. He's a great complement to Boston, equally at home in the slot or outside. He has no problem going over the middle for tough catches or running past defenders.
