Continue ReadingWilliams played receiver in 2021 and played more DB in 2022. He is a good example of your traditional cover corner. He puts himself in position to make good defensive plays in the secondary. Williams is in the receivers’ hip pocket when the ball gets there, he plays through the ball and hands of the receiver.
Watkins left a mark last season being name All-MIAA and throwing for 2000+ yards and 23 touchdowns. Winston also managed a 61% completion rating. Ball placement is a skill that really stands out in this prospect. He throws his receivers open on deep balls or puts the ball in the spot where only his receivers can make the play. On shorter routes he protects his receivers by throwing to spots rather than people, allowing his teammates to gain some YAC.

Sanchez is an electric athlete who is developing into a weapon at the slot position. He’s utilized in the backfield as a wild cat QB and is a jet motion back/slot. He eats up the soft spots in the middle of the field and has threatening ball carrying ability. One play that really stood out is a drag across the middle, a one hand catch and a powerful still arm with the same hand, after turning on the jets he takes it in for 7. Keep an eye on Santino to become a bigger part of the McDonough offense in 2023, maybe even the key weapon.
This past season Garrett was named MVP by his team and made 1st Team All-MIAA. He’s a shifty and elusive back who gets north and south in a hurry. His agility and quickness allow him to slash through the middle of the defense for substantial gains. His jumps cuts and ball carrying vision stand out, as he weaves through blocks and defenders between the tackles. Aidan has been becoming more of a weapon for Pallotti since transferring in from Elanore Roosevelt, but even there he was a main ball carrier on the varsity team. Lookout for Garrett to have another big season and find himself on some recruiting boards this fall.

BJ is a prospect to keep a close eye on this next season. He has great size at 6’6 290lbs and uses his size and strength to his advantage. He puts his weight on defenders and without a doubt they both will be moving in the direction he’s driving; he is not the linemen you watch to get into a shoving match with. Midgette is a stronger run blocker and plays with a bruiser play type.
