Linebackers
Coming off a strong debut season for his Page team, Anes continued his excellent work at our Showcase last Sunday where he was easily one of the top linebackers after a stellar camp performance in front of his peers and collegiate coaches. This is an athletic and active backer that brings great size and length to the field along with versatility. His versatile skill set was on full display last weekend as he showed off his abilities to close on the running back with his speed but also drop into coverage and do so with ease. Anes is a talented young man that still has plenty of room for growth, so this is a potential filled linebacker that will only get better the more he develops and matures.

One of the top names at our Winter Showcase last Sunday, Hazzard did not disappoint as he handled all the testing with no issues then looked exceptional during drill work. This 6’3 sophomore edge defender had a breakthrough year where he became one of the most feared pass rushers in the state and he showed off those skills in front of coaches and scouts last weekend, ending the day as one of the best linebacker performers. The biggest thing Hazzard wanted to work on in camp was his closing speed against the run and dropping into coverage to battle them and tight ends in the pass game and he did just fine. Look for this guy to explode on the recruiting scene very soon as one of the top guys from our in-state 2025 class.

Traveling from out of state to compete at the #PRZTN Showcase, Miles had a banner day where he was one of the best linebackers at camp and took his stock to another level after impressing during testing and 1 on 1 competitions. Miles is an athletic backer with great size and a frame that can definitely take on more weight. He displayed that athleticism big time during testing then looked impressive in 1 on 1’s where he handled covering backs and tight ends with ease. This Alabama linebacker still has two years of high school ball to go, so he screams big time potential and upside and a player that is far from a finished product that is destined to reach the college level.

If you were looking for a linebacker that looked the part physically, Cameron is your guy and he is still maturing and growing, so this East Tennessee junior could get even bigger. Standing 6’2 220 pounds, Cameron looks the part and used his size to his advantage during camp last weekend where during 1 on 1 competition, the Spartans linebacker did a good job at slowing up backs and tight ends in their routes then making a play on the ball. Cameron competed at a high level and worked his tail off throughout the entire combine to put forth the best effort and testing numbers that he could. It will be interesting to watch his progression this offseason as Cameron could be one of the best at his position for the East Tennessee region.

Sporting a physical frame with long arms and strong hands, Kimes was one of the guys who surprised and impressed me the most on Sunday’s Showcase and someone that has the potential to reach the college gridiron. Kimes is a well put together guy that has room for more size and he used that size several times when going up against opposing running backs. His quick reactions and feet are what stood out to me the most, which shows his upside to cover out of the backfield. This guy is a true middle backer but has enough versatility and size to be used in several roles. Look out for Kimes to bust out this year as one of the top middle backers in the Mid-Tennessee region.

Burrow was one of the main linebacker prospects in attendance that I was interested in watching as I had yet to see him in person and after all was concluded, I liked what I saw. The Eagles sophomore backer is an active and athletic guy that has upside as a possible “Star” or middle backer on the next level but of course he still has a ways to go. Burrow’s biggest moments of camp came during testing where he was one of the best at his position. He also flashed good moments during 1 on 1 competition where he was able to cover guys out of the backfield. Burrow does need to keep getting bigger and faster but I can see the upside and reasons college coaches are already interested.
For two years now, Farrior has been the leading tackler for his South Pitt team and on Sunday at the #PRZTN Winter Showcase, he showed why he is one of the top linebackers from the greater Chattanooga area. Broad shouldered with long arms and a nice frame for growth, Farrior is an active backer that displayed nice lower body movements as well as attention to detail. He took to coaching really well and got better and better as the day went on. Farrior is a true middle backer that works well against the run but shows athletic upside to eventually cover the pass just as strong, so his skill set should appeal to several college coaches across the Southern region.
A little known prospect out of the greater Chattanooga area, Hargis is an intriguing talent that lined up at linebacker for this camp but skill set makes him available to play a variety of roles on defense. The Pirates underclassmen competed with strong confidence throughout the combine, testing very well and then competing strong during 1 on 1 competition. Hargis is a bit undersized at the moment when it comes to weight but the frame is there to take on more size. This offseason and Fall football year will be key for Hargis to develop further and also increase his recruiting stock as he looks to take on a bigger role with the Pirates.
