The Capital Area Blue league was an outstanding surprise this season. Out of the four teams that advanced to the postseason, all four earned at least one playoff win. There hasn't been a better time for Lansing area football, and here I'm going to outline a few of the best seniors from this past season!

ATH | [player_tooltip player_id='407334' first='Shawn' last='Foster'] | Grand Ledge

A GVSU receiver commit, Foster took the helm at QB for the comets this season. It was a put your best athlete at QB move, but it paid off! Foster used his athleticism and surprisingly good arm to lead his team all the way to the Division 1 Regional round. Against DeWitt, Foster ran for 396 yards and seven touchdowns! For much of the season, Foster was in the Mr. Football conversation, or at least I think he should have been. I can tell you one thing- GVSU is getting a playmaker!

WR/DB | [player_tooltip player_id='241259' first='Bryce' last='Kurncz'] | DeWitt

The first time I saw Bryce play was his amazing performance in the 2021 state championship, where he made some incredible plays against [player_tooltip player_id='30316' first='Dante' last='Moore']. This season, he made most of his plays on offense. Bryce was a high-point god, as so many of his touchdowns came from mossing an opposing DB. I love his route running and physicality! Bryce rushed for over 1000 yards, just under 800 receiving yards, with 33 touchdowns. What a season for Bryce, and I wish him the best in college!

WR | [player_tooltip player_id='178996' first='Evan' last='Boyd'] | East Lansing

Boyd has been one of my favorite receivers this season! His 6'3 size makes him suitable for jump balls, and his athleticism always gives him a leg up in route running and RAC. It was a productive 6 touchdown season for Boyd, and he should continue his productivity at Central Michigan!

QB | [player_tooltip player_id='243467' first='Seneca' last='Moore'] | Holt

PLAYMAKER. Listen, Holt wasn't supposed to be great this season, but Moore led the way, and Holt as a team outperformed expectations. Running, passing, and improvising outside the pocket. [player_tooltip player_id='243467' first='Seneca' last='Moore'] could do it all, and this has led to a Bates College Commitment. Calm under pressure and electric when playing loose. Moore is a great QB for D3, and I look forward to keeping tabs on his college career!
