SD Elite 7v7 Tryout: High School Standouts, Part II
In this article:
SIOUX FALLS– After a lengthy holiday of travel, good food, family, and football (the 3 Fs to get thru the holidays in my opinion) we dive back into the high school standouts that made waves at the SD Elite 7v7 tryout in brisk Sioux Falls last weekend. We give the Prep Redzone Dakotas subscribers more goodies with our evaluations of these five standouts that caught my eyes last Saturday all day during the event.
Corban Hanneman Corban Hanneman 5'9" | 165 lbs | RB Lennox | 2025 State SD , ATH, Lennox (2025) Twitter
Corban was another prospect I caught at our early December Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase and had another strong showing at the SD Elite 7v7 tryout. Before I dive into Corban’s skillsets, I have to say how much I love this kid’s character as an underclassman. He’s an athlete type of prospect that handles his business on the gridiron but still has the tempo at a young age to motivate his teammates to get better from what my eyes saw from the early session in Sioux Falls. Regarding his skillsets, I like Corban’s balance; he showed off in early drills, which led to a sound showing in 1v1s in the late afternoon too. Corban has a fluid finish in every rep he took in 1v1s, which is something I look for a ton in my skill guys, whether they have the ball in their hands or not. I would even say he’s grown in just two weeks later with his coordinated change of direction as well. Corban is already on some next-level radars from our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase, which is a great sign for his future and he hasn’t even posted his sophomore tape yet.
Cadyn Russell Cadyn Russell 5'9" | 170 lbs | RB Harrisburg | 2025 SD , RB, Harrisburg (2025) Twitter
Talk about a monstrous change of direction from the morning session that Cadyn showed off in testing drills. His burst pounds downhill quickly as, without seeing Cadyn’s tape, I can tell that his ability to get into the second level of the field that won’t look like he’s afraid of any contact thrown his way. Cadyn will have to develop this offseason with his hands out of the backfield as he took some hard rock throws just out of his reach, but this young man is the reason why I love 7v7 football as I would be willing to bet by summertime, he’s well in tune with his development as a pass-catcher that is ready to lock in a load before the fall season gets going. I believe Cadyn has a high ceiling with a bunch of skill sets that will only get better and better year after year.
Easton Van Dyken, LB/WR, Western Christian (IA) (2026) Twitter
I watched Easton a handful in the 1v1s from the afternoon in Sioux Falls, and there were a bunch of skillsets to like about this young man. Easton was a wrecking ball when it came to his contact level as his instincts stuck out in my eyes as he was glued in with his change of direction and efficiently used his contact level, which outsized his measurables from what I saw in person as he played much more stout than the 5’9 160-pound frame you saw out there. Consistency is key for me when I watch younger prospects every rep, and Easton soared up in that category and should be on our Prep Redzone Iowa watchlist in the near future.
Dominic Kalacinski Dominic Kalacinski 6'4" | 180 lbs | ATH Sunshine Bible Academy | 2025 State SD , WR/DB, Harrisburg (2025) Twitter & Tape
I saw it back on December 4th and yet again saw it in Sioux Falls when I watched the massive catch radius Harrisburg Tigers wide receiver Dominic Kalacinski Dominic Kalacinski 6'4" | 180 lbs | ATH Sunshine Bible Academy | 2025 State SD . In a legit 6’3 frame, Dominic showed sound coordination within his route-running ability in which I especially liked him on the short/intermediate routes where he got to test out his massive vertical against some solid competition in the secondary last Saturday in Sioux Falls. Dominic also showed some locked-in footwork that showed off the fluid change of direction. Anytime you can show off your talent twice within a month as an underclassman, it’s easy to say that Dominic is on the right track with his football future. Dominic also showed how hard-nosed of a prospect he is with one of his reps I caught in 1v1s as this young man has no give in his work ethic and should be a future Saturdays prospect coming out of Harrisburg.
Hunter Saysayanh, ATH, Sioux Falls Washington (2026)
Hunter was a prospect I caught late in the 1v1 late afternoon session at the SD Elite 7v7 tryout, and although my notes are relatively light on this young man, he showed off some upside I tapped into late. He showed off some instinctive angles in his hip turn with his change of direction, and with what I saw, it’s quick to gauge the future of watching this kid’s football IQ. We will have to stay tuned to watch more of Hunter’s game as he enters his sophomore year.
