Continue ReadingDespite all of the additions, as well as a large amount of movement and displacement amongst ranked offensive linemen, Peter Jones Peter Jones 6’5″ | 300 lbs | OL Malvern Prep | 2024 State PA still takes the top spot in what we are calling one of the best offensive linemen classes in recent memory. Says a good deal on how we feel about the future Notre Dame star. Perfect size/build. Not too tall where you worry about his potential mobility or flexibility. Not too short where you worry about his ability to handle massive defensive ends rushing off the edge. Elite with his hands, both in placement and punch. Extensive tape on both sides of the linemen spectrum, that being in run-blocking and pass-protection sets. Jones is the safest prospect on the entire 2024 board.

100 pancakes, 0 sacks. The McDowell tackle sticks out like a sore thumb, towering over the children across from him, standing at 6’7 and a whopping 305 pounds. The recruiting staff at Penn State has to be pleased with their future star’s junior tape, not that they might be surprised by the dominant performances he put on tape this Fall. We aren’t surprised either. Much like Peter Jones Peter Jones 6’5″ | 300 lbs | OL Malvern Prep | 2024 State PA , Cooper Cousins Cooper Cousins 6’6″ | 310 lbs | OL McDowell | 2024 State PA , almost for the past two years, has put forth some of the safest tape you can find in the entire Northeast region of the nation. If you’re wondering what that means, it means I’d trust Cooper Cousins Cooper Cousins 6’6″ | 310 lbs | OL McDowell | 2024 State PA to make an impact or see playing time early into his career at Penn State.
Arguably the offensive linemen with the highest upside. We’ve hammered down how excited we are about his potential, considering his 6’7 frame. There are more 6’7-6’8 linemen on the rankings, none have the potential Heywood exudes due to how athletic he is off the snap. Let’s not jump the gun, Heywood has work to do to reach this high ceiling we all speak of. Translating the quick feet we see in camp settings to the field has been a work in progress, one that is certainly working in his favor. Yet his elite feet and balance haven’t reached their ceiling. A maxed-out Kevin Heywood Kevin Heywood 6’7″ | 300 lbs | OL Pope John Paul II | 2024 State PA might land as the top prospect in this class after it’s all said and done.

Everyone is surprised about Caleb Brewer Caleb Brewer 6’5″ | 285 lbs | OL Wyomissing | 2024 State PA ‘s growth in recruitment over the past few months, days even. We aren’t. If there was ever a prospect to be over-shadowed in Pennsylvania, it would be the one underneath both Jven Williams Jven Williams 6’4″ | 290 lbs | OL Wyomissing Junior-Senior | 2023 State PA and Pacen Ziegler Pacen Ziegler 6’4″ | 275 lbs | OL Wyomissing | 2023 State PA . I can’t blame many for not realizing Caleb Brewer Caleb Brewer 6’5″ | 285 lbs | OL Wyomissing | 2024 State PA was equally as important to the Wyomissing run-game working as well as it has over the past two years. Brewer and Heywood each rise into the top ten of their class, each flashing incredible athleticism at the position that Power Five programs covet. Brewer currently stands as the fourth-best lineman in this class, that might not sound flattering until you realize we have four linemen inside of the top ten! Excited to see how high he can climb.
Ryan Cory Ryan Cory 6’4″ | 285 lbs | OL Pine-Richland | 2024 State PA “drops” in favor of two prospects who are rising amongst recruiting circles. Let’s not forget that Cory was once a hot name in recruiting circles and has done nothing but lead an offense and Pine-Richland program to a State Championship since. Although Cory ranks below Heywood and Brewer, Cory still exemplifies what we like about Peter Jones Peter Jones 6’5″ | 300 lbs | OL Malvern Prep | 2024 State PA and Cooper Cousins Cooper Cousins 6’6″ | 310 lbs | OL McDowell | 2024 State PA . Safety. There is little worry amongst those clamoring for Ryan Cory Ryan Cory 6’4″ | 285 lbs | OL Pine-Richland | 2024 State PA . Get his strength and conditioning where it needs to be before he suits up for a Power Five program and you have a juggernaut ready to be deployed. Plain and simple. Cory’s rank might have plateaued, yet his game certainly hasn’t. Pine-Richland will be in the running for yet another State Title next year so long as they have Cory stationed anywhere in the trenches.
Believe it or not, Ryan Howard Ryan Howard 6’7″ | 300 lbs | OL Downingtown West | 2024 State PA only has two Power Five offers. That’s hardly a number to laugh at, any Power Five offer should be considered a blessing. That being said, I’m surprised someone with this kind of tape, with this kind of size, hasn’t drawn letters from West Virginia or Virginia Tech just to name a few. 6’7, 315 pounds, Downingtown West’s elite linemen stands as the most massive linemen prospect on this list, close to being the most massive in Pennsylvania. Arguably, the best number out of Ryan Howard Ryan Howard 6’7″ | 300 lbs | OL Downingtown West | 2024 State PA might be his GPA. His 4.0+ GPA has Ivy League programs knocking on the door, as UPenn and Yale have extended offers in recent weeks. I could see Howard signing to an FCS program and dominating the field for years to come. Howard has a ceiling to reach. Downingtown West might not jump off the page amongst circles like Wyomissing and Malvern Prep do. I’m interested in seeing how his recruitment will rise in the coming months.
Ryan Cory Ryan Cory 6’4″ | 285 lbs | OL Pine-Richland | 2024 State PA is the only one on the list that can claim what Andrew Erby Jr Andrew Erby Jr 6’3″ | 285 lbs | DL Steelton Highspire | 2024 PA . can claim. That’s being a 2x State Champion. Andrew Erby Jr Andrew Erby Jr 6’3″ | 285 lbs | DL Steelton Highspire | 2024 PA . serves as the most versatile prospect on this list in terms of alignment. We could easily rank him amongst defensive linemen based on his tape, a move that would likely place him inside the top three among 2024 defensive linemen. Not many on this list can say that either. Many like to bring down the Roller’s efforts, and Erby Jr.’s as well, solely because they play in 1A. That hasn’t stopped Power Five programs from reaching out, so the noise is just that, noise. Although Andrew Erby Jr Andrew Erby Jr 6’3″ | 285 lbs | DL Steelton Highspire | 2024 PA . missed some time this Fall due to nagging injuries, he still managed to wreak havoc on defense, while showing off his smarts on the go at offensive guard. You like to see how nimble he is on his feet, considering he is the smallest of this bunch. I do not expect this mauler to ever rank outside of the top ten at either DL or OL.
