Luke Halsey, OL/DL, 2024 – Luke is a beast of a player. He is 6’3 and weighs 265 and has good athleticism. Edgewood uses a run based offense so Luke’s skills lie on the run blocking side. He is quick off the snap with a flat back, wide base, and violent punch. He is aggressive and pancakes defenders routinely. He has good drive in his drive blocks and covers defenders up on the outside while running his feet. He gets up to the backers and sticks like glue. He mashes as the drive lineman in double team situations. He is athletic enough to be a great pass blocker once he gets into an offense where he can learn and master the technique. Worth a good look on film.
Westland
Emoni Smith, FS/WR/Returner, 2026 – Emoni is a rising star. He played Varsity this season and started on defense. At FS he reads plays well and uses his exceptional athleticism to make plays. He triggers fast in the run game and makes aggressive tackles. He stays deeper than the deepest and plays through the hands of the receivers. He has good hips and can flip them fast to stay in phase. He wins the tweener balls and has good jumping ability. At Receiver he is a good route runner and is utilized in the fly sweep game. He has open field wiggle and can separate in the open field. He gets open and can score when targeted. He is a good returner and worth kicking away from. Excited to see his progress this off season.
Princeton
Travis Lawrence, MLB, 2024 – Travis is fun to watch. He has the perfect mix of athleticism and aggression you want in a LB. He is fast, twitchy and physical. He is a big presence in the middle. He reads blocks well and hammers OL trying to block him. He rips off in the his gap and makes good tackles on the LOS. He runs with his hair on fire on outside run with proper leverage. He is a tenacious blitzer who gets to the QB. He drops well into coverage and cancels the underneath routes. He deserves a scholarship offer this off season.
Monroe (Cincinnati)
Keenan Brown, OLB, 2025 – Keenan is one of the best rising Juniors in SE Ohio. He stands 6’4 and weighs 210 with room to fill out. He plays on the LOS, in the box and out over 2. He is good at multiple techniques due to varying alignments. He is fast, physical, and athletic. He sets a good edge and keeps his outside arm free. He is patient inside the box and maintains his gaps well with good block destruction. He reroutes well over 2 and drops quickly to his areas. He is a very good tackler. His best ability is the pass rush. He uses his speed to get the advantage and bends well back to the QB. I am excited to see his progress this offseason.
New Albany
