Sullivan was thrust into action this year and not only did he step up, but he broke out in a big way. With the hurt that was surrounding Carroll this year, Sullivan was the perfect guy for the job. Sullivan is a level headed, steady, and humble leader and his guys follow. He’s calm under pressure and doesn’t flinch when pressure is coming down the barrel when he’s in the pocket. He’s a decent athlete who can not only take off, but rip off a big run. His first year starting he led Carroll to an undefeated regular season and a State Championship birth against Center Grove. Sullivan put up 2200-yards through the air and added a few hundred on the ground with a total of 36 TDs on the year. He’s got a tall lengthy frame and can run but he doesn’t have the biggest arm. Not bad by any means and he still has 2 years left so I feel he’s in a good spot. He started the year as a big wildcard for Carroll and put together a season for the ages.

DJ Gordon DJ Gordon 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Park Tudor | 2024 State IN – Park Tudor – QB – 6’1″ 195lbs – 2024
Gordon is one of the most electric players in the state with the ball in his hands and he keeps getting better and better every year. He’s a great athlete and can take off at any moment. You have to gameplan around him and his ability to take off. The problem is, the minute you come up to play the run, he’ll hit you over the top. Gordon has a ton, of raw, arm talent and there are times he makes some incredible throws look easy. Then, he can make some easy throws look hard but it’s mechanic driven. He’s a young QB and as those mechanics improve he’ll be a better precision passer. Yet, he still completed 67% of his throws this year. Not only that, but it was the way he was doing it. Sometimes on the run, sometimes an off platform throw, sometimes just with a flick of his wrist. The arm talent combined with his legs make him incredibly dangerous. This year alone he put up over 2000 through the air, over 500 on the ground, and 42 total TDs with 10 of those coming on the ground. When he takes off, he’s dangerous and hits the promised land more than defenses would like. A 10% jump in completion percentage while leading Park Tudor to 9 wins was quite a season and helped skyrocket Gordon.

Jalen Alexander Jalen Alexander 6'0" | 185 lbs | RB Hamilton Southeastern | 2024 State IN – Hamilton Southeastern – RB – 6’0″ 185lbs – 2024
Alexander is a phenomenal athlete who is just starting to get a full feel for his upside on a football field. With the ball in his hands he’s as dangerous as anyone and defenses found that out this way. He’s got fantastic vision and some of the best juke and cut moves you’ll see. He’s able to change direction and make defenders look silly all the time. He’s got fantastic start/stop speed and gets full speed almost immediately. This season he had the definiton of a break out and exploded onto the scene. Prior to this season he had only rushed for 24-yards. He had that on the first drive of the season this year and never looked back. Alexander finished with over 1500 rushing yards and 15 TDs while helping lead Hamilton Southeastern to a 12-0 regular season. Alexander came in and had one of those seasons where you look back and recognize it was a turning point in his career. The upside is there, the talent is there, and he’s got another year to go off and showcase he belongs on the big stage.

Cameron Herron Cameron Herron 6'4" | 260 lbs | OL Warren Central | 2025 State IN – Warren Central – OL – 6’4″ 260lbs – 2025
Herron is a fantastic, yet raw, athlete who can be great down the road. He’s got quick feet, especially for his size, and he bends well. He’s not stiff and doesn’t struggle to get up off the LOS. He’s very nimble and is great as a lead blocker. He’s more than quick enough to get downfield and block in the screen game as well. Right now, he’s just a bit light and needs some more development in the weight room, but the progress is there. There are times he can play a bit high and rise out of his stance but another very minor thing that can easily be cleaned up over the next few years. With his ability to move and go on the move, I’d imagine he stays on the interior at the next level. However, if he shoots up another few inches we could be looking at a stellar tackle with as much potential as you can dream up. Either way, Herron is one heck of a recruit to be targeting for down the road and is going to make one fine player when his time comes.

Donovan Rhodes Donovan Rhodes 6'0" | 190 lbs | DB Hamilton Southeastern | 2024 State IN – Hamilton Southeastern – DB – 6’0″ 155lbs – 2024
Rhodes is a rangy DB who is able to play out-wide or come into the slot and play. He’s got long strides and flips his hips smoothly. He backpedals and isn’t greedy, yet still has good ball skills and will make a pick if it’s there to be made. Rhodes likes to stay on top and eliminate the big play or put himself in a position to take a shot at the ball as it comes. Rhodes likes to get his hands on a WR early and get a feel for how physical they’re willing to be. Rhodes isn’t afraid of contact or being isolated 1 on 1 and he can come up and make an open field tackle. 32 total tackles on the year but more importantly, the 10 PBUs and 3 INTs that Rhodes had this year. He was forcing turnovers and punts while keeping one side of the field clean. That’s as good as it gets for a young DB. He’s got some areas to improve but he’s a physical Corner who really made his impact this year. Next year, look for him to be one of the best DBs in the region and to frustrate more opposing WRs.
