This Saturday in Indianapolis there was a ton of anticipation around the showcase and the talent that would be there. Some fantastic players came out and had themselves a great day and we’ll be sure to cover them all over the next few days. Today, we’re looking at the gamechangers and MVP’s from the showcase.
Isaiah Rogers Isaiah Rogers 6'2" | 225 lbs | QB Ben Davis | 2025 State IN – Ben Davis – 6’3″ 203lbs – 2025
Rogers looks even better in person and he had a good day. He showcased how big his arm is and what he’s able to do with it. He hit every throw that I charted except for 1 that I’ll get to in a second. He was throwing with anticipation and working with guys he’d just met. His incompletion came during 1 on 1s where his WR ran a deep post. Rogers threw that ball so far and so deep that not only did he overthrow the post, but everyone stopped and looked around confused in what they just saw. Rogers uncorked that ball the entire length of the field and had the WR somehow been able to catch up to it, they would have ate the wall. It was just one of those throws where everyone in the building understands the potential this young man has. He’s got a great confidence, not cockiness, to him and his game. He gets out there and lets it rip. If he can refine and develop his game over the next few years, he’s going to be a superstar. He walked away with the QB MVP award for good reason.

Jeremiah Berry Jeremiah Berry 6'0" | 190 lbs | RB Pike | 2023 State IN – Pike – RB – 6’0″ 195lbs – 2023
Berry, in my opinion, is still one of the best RBs in the state and he’s still on the market. He came out and had another fantastic showing and this is the second camp he’s left that I’ve been at where he’s earned MVP honors. He’s fantastic out of the backfield and can run inbetween the tackles. He’s got a nice build and is eager to learn. He’s always asking the right questions and willing to take coaching points on the fly. He secured his MVP nod with a fantastic route on a LB in 1 on 1’s. Understood the LB’s leverage, used it against him, crossed his face, and got wide open. While I’m not sure where he is in terms of pass protection, I imagine he’d learn quick if he’s not ready. He’s electric with the ball in his hands and good things just happen for the offense.

Davion Chandler Davion Chandler 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Lawrence North | 2025 State IN – Lawrence North – WR – 5’10” 160lbs – 2025
Chandler is the best raw athlete you’ll come across. He’s just a freak. I mean it respectfully of course, but some of the things he’s able to do are fairly impressive, even at the highest levels. He’s got fantastic body control and can adjust to any catch in the air. It’s a natural thing with him to where he makes it look easy. He had one catch where it was under-thrown, he stopped on a dime, and levitated. I mean levitated, and went up to get the ball. It was the only play of the day where everyone there reacted and you heard the oohs and ahhs come out. The route running isn’t quite there yet, but he’s twitchy and has the explosion you’re looking for coming out of cuts. He’s young, electric, and making a name for himself every time he steps on the field. Definitely a name to watch like a hawk in the coming years.

Isaac Sowells – Louisville Male (KY) – OL – 6’2″ 270lbs – 2025
Sowells is a collegiate starting Center when the time comes. There weren’t many offensive line recruits there but the ones that were, were fantastic and Sowells lead the way. A legit 6’2″ 270lbs frame with fantastic feet and knows how to anchor. He’s able to get set in pass pro and has no issue being on the move. He’s just a raw, phenomenal, and large athlete. During the 1 on 1’s, I spent some time near the line and everything he did in drills translated right to the field. He looked so good that I had another coach stop what he was doing and ask me if Sowells was a HS recruit or college player in the transfer portal. That blew my mind, but I understood his confusion with how good Sowells looked. For his age his technique, raw power, and ability to bend is special. He’s not an Indiana recruit but he came to Indiana and dominated this camp. Wherever he ends up down the road, they’re getting a superstar in the making.

Tyrone Burrus – Warren Central – DE – 6’3″ 210lbs – 2025
Burrus is a D1 recruit in the making and someone I had anxiously wanted to meet in person and just see if the frame matches what you see on tape. He’s incredibly lengthy, way too explosive for chunky OTs to handle, can bend with ease, and has a twitch that they can’t keep up with. His arms are as long as you’d expect and rep after rep he was blowing the offensive linemen back before they could even get a finger on him. He’s wired the right way on the field and when that ball is snapped he just let’s it loose. He ran a stupid fast 40 as well. I don’t remember the number, but I believe it was not only the fastest DL 40 there, but one of the top 5 fastest times in total. He beat a Tackle so fast on the outside that they made him rerun the rep just so the OT could have a chance to block him. I’ve never seen that happen before but it spoke to the level of potential that Burrus has.

Cruz Williams Cruz Williams 5'11" | 200 lbs | LB Westfield | 2025 State IN – Westfield – LB – 5’11” 190lbs – 2025
If you haven’t pulled up his tape by now, you probably should. Not only is he one of the best LBs in the state, but every time I see him he looks better. He works, hard. The physical development is there and he’s progressing. The first time I met him this past summer to now, he’s bigger, faster, and stronger. He’s got incredible range and always takes the proper angle when coming downhill. He’s got sideline to sideline speed, can play man coverage on the outside, and is always looking to take more reps and get pointers. He’s always on a football field and looking for little things to improve on and it’s noticeable with how much quicker he’s recognizing plays and diagnosing them. The future is as bright as he wants it to be. Another stellar showing from one of the state of Indiana’s finest prospects.

Ibou Diedhiou Ibou Diedhiou 6'0" | 165 lbs | DB Pike | 2025 State IN – Purdue Polytechnic – DB – 5’11” 140lbs – 2025
Diedhiou is a perfect example about what I love about these camps. I thought coming in I knew dang near everyone and what to expect. One of the few I didn’t know and had never heard of before was Ibou. He came in, was quiet, did was he was told to do, and was the most sound DB all day. He’s got incredible range and length. Elite closing speed that allows him to catch up on some plays you wouldn’t think possible and he’s not afraid to use his hands. He’s not overly aggressive and will play the play as well. He kept every single receiver he went up against in phase all night and didn’t allow a catch while batting down a few balls. More importantly, he never panicked in the middle of a rep and stayed sound in his mechanics and let the results follow. A fantastic showing from a young recruit who did exactly what this showcase is designed to do, put himself on the map.
