For the majority of eight-player teams in Iowa, the quarterback position serves a dual purpose. Many use that player to also run the football quite often.

However, there are still several elite-level running backs that call eight-player home. And we will honor them here and now.

First Team - [player_tooltip player_id='320701' first='Simeon' last='Reichenbach'] - WACO - Senior

If you watched the state playoffs in eight-player, you could not help but be impressed by WACO's [player_tooltip player_id='320701' first='Simeon' last='Reichenbach']. The senior did it all for his team, almost leading them to the championship. From his running back position, Reichenbach had 177 carries for 1,576 yards and 24 touchdowns, averaging just a shade under 12 yards per carry.

Reichenbach caught 24 passes for 402 yards with five touchdowns, averaging 17 yards per catch. He recorded 55 tackles, 12 for loss, had four turnovers, a defensive touchdown, averaged 22 yards per kickoff return, 12 yards per punt return and had 53 made extra-points, 11 made field goals and 79 touchbacks on 98 kickoffs. Oh, he also averaged 40 yards per punt.

Second Team - Charlie Simpson - Easton Valley - Senior

With nearly 1,600 yards, 24 touchdowns and almost a 12-yard average per carry, Easton Valley's Charlie Simpson was unstoppable for much of this past season. The senior constantly was a threat to take the ball all the way each and every single time he touched it.

Simpson also made 21 receptions for 202 yards with a score. He had 9.5 tackles for loss on defense with two fumble recoveries, a TD and a 26-yard average per kickoff return.

Third Team - [player_tooltip player_id='152686' first='Brenden' last='Fisch'] - Remsen St. Mary's - Senior

Mr. Do It All for Remsen St. Mary's, senior [player_tooltip player_id='152686' first='Brenden' last='Fisch'] might not have had the eye-popping numbers, but he was incredibly effective. Fisch led the team with 925 yards, rushing for 20 scores with an eight-yard average.

He also caught 10 passes for 183 and three scores, recorded 33 tackles with five for loss and two sacks, and returned a kickoff for a score.

Honorable Mention

[player_tooltip player_id='320726' first='Brandon' last='Cushion'] from West Central scored 31 touchdowns, while Treyton Shaw of English Valleys, [player_tooltip player_id='152752' first='Isaac' last='Grundman'] of Lenox and Walker Rife from West Harrison all had strong seasons.
