A few of these prospects hold lower level offers but are still waiting on the Division one level to come through. We took an in-depth look at the Top three!
Kaden Beard – RB – Lanier High School
- Not truly explosive, but possesses enough speed to beat linebacker to the edge.
- Demonstrated the ability to track the ball over his shoulder. Good flexibility and balance to adjust to the poorly thrown pass. Good vision and patience for screens.
- Has a smaller, compact build with adequate thickness throughout his frame. Confident and ambitious player who wants the ball. Has shifty footwork with the natural burst and lateral quickness to make defenders miss and turn upfield in a hurry – tough to tackle in space.
- Beard has the flexible ankles to turn the corner and get around the perimeter when the opportunity presents itself.
Jake Wesson – CB – South Paulding High School
- Strong hands to make plays on the ball, effective blitzer who shows well-coached technique and awareness.
- Has the fluidity, speed and quick feet to come down and defend slot receivers in man coverage. Tennison also does a nice job breaking down in space as a tackler after the catch.
- Great on route recognition and has click-and-close ability
- Tough and scrappy with forceful nature to be physical at all levels of the field. Has good bulk on his frame to be aggressive in run support.
Aiden Benton – OLB/DE – Lovejoy High School
- Can attack the edge with speed and has the flexibility to dip low and under the tackle’s reach.
- He has an excellent feel for working off blockers and knowing how and when to counter as the play goes on.
- Benton can be used as a rangy run defender inside, instinctive when it comes to locating the ball with the quickness to get to it before blockers can react at the second level.
- Ferocious against the run and very good in coverage, is extremely versatile. Despite his build, Benton holds up well in traffic and makes a lot of plays by engaging a block, shedding, and pursuing.
