<p>Cherry was dominant throughout the season for the Lynx, helping them reach the state playoffs while ranking among the best of the best out of the running back position.</p>

<p>But he was not the only one in Class 4A who had a strong season.</p>

<p><strong>First Team - [player_tooltip player_id='156632' first='Jaxon' last='Cherry'] - Webster City - Junior</strong></p>

<p>You cannot overlook what [player_tooltip player_id='156632' first='Jaxon' last='Cherry'] accomplished this season. Yes, he plays in a run-friendly system, but if you saw the talented junior in action, you would agree: he is special. Cherry ran for 1,804 yards and scored 31 times on the ground, averaging 8.4 yards per carry.</p>

<p>Cherry will go down in history as one of the best to ever do it at Webster City. He also showed off his hands in the passing game with three receptions for 108 yards and a score. And, he even completed a 22-yard pass while adding 61 tackles with 8.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks on defense. </p>

<p><strong>Second Team - [player_tooltip player_id='104113' first='Jonathan' last='Humpal'] - Council Bluffs Lewis Central - Senior</strong></p>

<p>The recent Iowa Western commit, [player_tooltip player_id='104113' first='Jonathan' last='Humpal'] shined bright this past fall. The Council Bluffs Lewis Central senior carried the ball 170 times for 1,220 yards, averaging over seven per carry with 17 touchdowns. </p>

<p>Behind Humpal, the Titans reached the state championship game before coming up short. He was exceptional in the pass game, catching 30 balls for 335 yards with four touchdowns. On special teams, he averaged a mind-blowing 42 yards per return, scoring three times on 11 touches. </p>

<p><strong>Third Team - [player_tooltip player_id='152755' first='McCrae' last='Hagarty'] - Waverly-Shell Rock - Senior</strong></p>

<p>Paired up with [player_tooltip player_id='152913' first='Asa' last='Newsom'], [player_tooltip player_id='152755' first='McCrae' last='Hagarty'] of Waverly-Shell Rock was nearly unstoppable. He ran for 1,477 yards and scored 25 touchdowns, averaging over eight yards per carry.</p>

<p>Hagarty, who will wrestle for Kevin Dresser at Iowa State next year, also hauled in nine passes for 61 yards with a score. He was a disruptive force on defense, recording 13 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks among his 41 stops. </p>

<p><strong>Honorable Mention</strong></p>

<p>Plenty of other worthy candidates could have slotted into the top three spots including Cedar Rapids Xavier [player_tooltip player_id='246743' first='Michael' last='Cunningham'], Pella's Kenson Fuller and Carlisle duo Jes Krcil and Jack Laughlin. Those players are all seniors, while juniors Grant Glausser of Western Dubuque, [player_tooltip player_id='247949' first='Cody' last='Klein'] from Newton and Bondurant-Farrar's [player_tooltip player_id='156487' first='Titus' last='Cram'] also had big seasons. </p>
