A few of these prospects hold lower level offers but are still waiting on the Division one level to come through. We took an in-depth look at the Top three!
Chris Roper – RB – Adairsville High School
- Roper does a nice job with recognition as a pass protector and gives good effort.
- He’s patient, letting blocks develop then accelerating. He runs with a good forward lean and consistently falls forward.
- Roper combines good speed with his size, and McIntosh accelerates off the line better than most big receivers.
- He’s a quality receiver with soft hands, and he shows a good feel for catching and transitioning upfield in the screen game.
An’Drico Jackson – WR – Monroe High School
- Jackson tracks the ball well downfield and consistently runs under long throws.
- Strong runner with the ball with enough agility to make defenders miss in the open field.
- Thriving on physicality, he’s a contested-catch specialist with a knack for warding off defenders while the ball is in the air. He has strong hands and the ability to wrestle the ball away from defenders.
- Jackson has quick feet and good body control, allowing him to gear down and quickly get in and out of cuts. His hands are good, and he’s a creative runner after the catch with the elusiveness to slip tackles in space.
Marquis Davis – CB – Carver High School
- Anticipation skills and explosive, downhill burst could make him a star in zone-based scheme.
- Changes directions with ease and has the frame to hold up at any spot in the secondary.
- Ballhawk CB, leading Class 3A with 6 interception
- Has more of defending a slot receiver skill set, but with more and more small, quick receivers emerging as No. 1 threats, is the kind of quick-footed cover man who can counter those kinds of pass catchers.
- Davis can flip his hips and run, with good top-end speed and the length to make plays on the ball.
- Great discipline, doesn’t panic.
