Chris’s Corner: Uncommitted Linebackers Still Available

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With signing day just over a month away, we wanted to take a moment and shine a spotlight on four linebackers still available in the class of 2023.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>DE/OLB Chase Warren - 6'3″ 235 / Frisco Independence HS -- <em>@CWarren2023</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Senior Stats: 74 tackles, 18 TFL, 5.5 sacks. 16 QB Hurries.</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Warren is a quarterback hunter who will be the steal of the signing class for somebody on February 3rd. He's a versatile edge rusher who can line up as a 4-3 defensive end or a 3-4 Jack linebacker. As a pass rusher, he uses his long arms to create separation, then is able to skillfully disengage with a variety of maneuvers to get into the backfield and wreak havoc. Versus the run, he can win in a variety of ways. He's strong enough to bull rush offensive tackles, he's quick enough to dip and rip, and he's got enough sideline-to-sideline speed to chase down runners on the perimeter. He can play with his hand in the dirt, or stand up as an outside backer in a 3-4. He has an elite first step and plays with active hands, which allow him to easily get off blocks and get to the ball carrier. What truly jumps out about Nate is his natural athleticism. He could even transition to Will linebacker in a 4-3 scheme. Had 6 sacks, 8 tackles for loss, and 6 quarterback hurries as a senior. One thing he does very well is use his eyes to read plays and either get downhill, or flatten out and get to the sideline. He's got surprising strength that he often uses to bull rush tackles and affect the play. When in coverage, he doesn't take false steps and get caught in 'no man's land.' Will be a very nice addition to a smaller program's linebacker room.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Currently has an offer from McPherson College.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/13481131/6398950d4210ba04d0566d0f"><strong><em>Kisean Parker Senior Season - Hudl</em></strong></a></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>LB Marquell Dorsey-Abram - 6'1″ 210 / Atascocita HS -- <em>@_MarquellDA23</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dorsey-Abram is an outside backer that is flying under the radar. Sets the edge nicely and has some juice to get to the quarterback on a regular basis. He's active against the run and wins with a motor that's always running at 100.
