Which Middle Georgia prospects have breakout years this fall? Let’s take a look…
Antwann Hill Antwann Hill 6'4" | 215 lbs | QB Houston County | 2025 State GA Jr – QB – Houston County
There was a lot of hype surrounding Houston County’s star quarterback coming into his sophomore season, and the big-armed quarterback absolutely hived up to that hype this past season. The big 6-foot-4 200-pounder has the physical traits that will translate well to the next level along with a rocket arm that he showed off week after week last season. He has plenty of arm strength and did a great job of throwing the ball accurately down the field. While he was already a big name on thee recruiting trail heading into the 2022 season, it’s clear he had his “breakout” year as a sophomore, throwing for 3,663 yards and 40 TDs this season in year two. He also completed over 70% of his passes and threw only three INTs all season. He has easy D1 arm talent and could push for 5-star status in the 2025 class down the road.
Nick Woodford – RB – Northeast
If we’re talking about breakout 2025 running backs, Macon native Nick Woodford has to be atop the list after an incredible sophomore season where he came in 2nd in the state in rushing yards. A tough back with a smaller but muscular frame, Woodford was tough to square up and get on the ground consistently all year long. He was reliable out of the backfield and showed breakaway speed time after time. He’s a great straight-line runner, but he has quick feet and runs with impressive balance as well. He rushed for an amazing 2,746 yards and 40 touchdowns this year, averaging an outstanding 22.8 yards peer game this season. He had a breakout season for the ages last year and should see his recruitment pick up over the next several weeks.
Isaiah Gibson – DL – Warner Robins
One of the top young DL prospects in Middle Georgia, the big Warner Robins lineman is a tough, physical lineman with a lean frame and a great motor. He can clog running lanes in the middle of the line of scrimmage and knows how to get after the quarterback as well. He’s quick off the ball, shows strong hands, and was one of the top young defenders on an impressive Demons defense. Gibson made 42 tackles on the season with 12 of them coming behind the line of scrimmage. He has a knack for making plays in thee backfield and made a big impact there all season long. He also added six sacks and hurried the quarterback 24 times, proving to be a defender whose stock will continue to rise over the next several months.
Kadiphius Iverson – RB Westside
Another breakout running back out of Macon this past season, the Westside standout turned in a very productive sophomore season last year, showing the ability to break tackles and eats up plenty of yards after contact. A physical runner with mass at 5-foot-11 and over 200-pounds, Iverson shows some elusiveness in the second level and a knack for coming up with big runs. As a sophomore last fall, Iverson rushed for 1,018 yards and 14 touchdowns. He rushed for over 100 yards in five games with his best game of the year coming against Morrow where he took off for 126 yards and three touchdowns. Look for him to get better and better in the off-season, setting him up for a big junior season in 2023.
