Washington senior running back Cole Scott Cole Scott 5’11” | 190 lbs | RB Washington | 2023 State OK was one of the more productive running backs in the state last season and he’s doing it again this year. Scott hasn’t had to have as heavy of a workload as the Washington offense is very balanced this season and a lot of their games have ended up being blowouts. But he has still managed to run for over 1,500 yards and 28 touchdowns on the season. Scott is a smaller back that is simply hard to bring down in 1 on 1 situations. He can bounce it to the outside and flash that quickness and overall speed. But don’t underestimate the strength because he can lower his shoulder and run over a defender if that defender isn’t ready.

One of the more underrated prospects in the state’s 2023 class has to be Washington defensive end Hayden Milner Hayden Milner 6’4″ | 255 lbs | DL Washington | 2023 State OK . You look at his production on the field, size and physicality that he plays with and it’s hard not to imagine him playing college football somewhere at a high level. Milner was one of our players to watch for Washington coming into the season after checking him out a couple times during the offseason. He was one of the more impressive linemen at one of our camps we ran and he continues to get better and better on the field. He leads the Warrior defense in tackles, tackles for loss and sacks and he’s constantly putting pressure on the opposing backfield.

We were interested in seeing how Washington quarterback Major Cantrell Major Cantrell 5’11” | 175 lbs | QB Washington | 2024 State OK would do this season as he lost some of his best playmakers at the wide receiver position. While the Warriors definitely have experience back in the run game, Cantrell needed to find some new targets in the pass game. He was able to do that and has been incredibly efficient with the ball this season. He’s thrown for nearly 1,700 yards and 19 touchdowns with only 5 interceptions. He’s taking care of the ball and he’s picking his spots to be aggressive. Next year could be a big season for Cantrell with Scott graduating and Cantrell will be a three-year starter at that point. But first, he wants to finish the job with a gold ball.

Right there with Hayden Milner Hayden Milner 6’4″ | 255 lbs | DL Washington | 2023 State OK along the defensive line for Washington is Naithen Spaulding. The Warriors will be leaning on this dynamic duo to contain Millwood’s running game. The Falcons have some outstanding athletes in the backfield and having another player like Spaulding along the front seven will certainly help the Warriors contain them. Spaulding is another player that is extremely experienced and is hungry to finally raise that gold ball over his head after coming short last year. He’s second on the team behind Milner in sacks as both players have really done a good job of disrupting the line of scrimmage and finding a way into the opposing backfield.
We mentioned how Washington would need some new targets to step up in the passing game. The leading receiver this year has been sophomore tight end Nate Roberts Nate Roberts 6’4″ | 235 lbs | TE Washington | 2025 State OK . The Washington standout leads the team with 30 catches for nearly 700 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Warriors have four different players with over 20 catches as they are spreading the ball around to different playmakers on the outside. But when it comes down to it, Roberts has been the top target and it’s hard to argue with the production. One out of three catches ends up being a touchdown. Not a bad ratio. And Roberts has also established himself as one of the top tight ends in the state and is being recruited at a high level.
