The Shadow Creek Shark’s Defense

It is now playoff season in Texas for high school football which means if you lose you are done for the season. During round 1 of the playoffs on Thursday, November 10th I went to The Shadow Creek Sharks vs The Brazoswood Pirates game. I was excited to see Shadow Creek play because they're one of the best teams in Houston and Brazoswood was a competent team I thought it would be a good game. However, Shadow Creek just could not be stopped on either offense or defense. Brazoswood was outmatched and only scored one touchdown compared to Shadow Creek's 11 touchdowns. The final score of the game was 77-7 with Shadow Creek moving on to round 2. Shadow Creek had a lot of standouts on defense.   #92 [player_tooltip player_id='147421' first='Zion' last='Taylor'] DE Jr 6'1 240 lbs    [player_tooltip player_id='147421' first='Zion' last='Taylor'] is dangerous upfront and quick off the ball. Zion as a defensive end is big, strong, and fast. Offensive linemen struggled to block Zion leading to him being in the backfield numerous times rushing the quarterback and being able to swat a pass down. This display of athleticism made Zion stand out to me and is the key defensive lineman for Shadow Creek. Zion is a top college prospect being recruited by numerous colleges and universities from; the University of Houston, University of Michigan, University of Texas Tech, Ole Miss University, University of California, and Purdue University to name a few. Zion's stats were 3 total tackles, one sack, and one pass deflection.    #3 [player_tooltip player_id='149649' first='Maurice' last='Williams'] II S Jr 6'1 190 lbs    Maurice William II is one of the best safeties in not only Houston but in Texas. Maurice is great at attacking he has impeccable tackling form and is great at coverage during pass plays. Maurice deflected numerous passes throughout the game and caught an interception. Maurice is a cut above the rest and will be a key player for Shadow Creek during playoff season. Maurice is a top college prospect catching the attention of numerous amount of colleges and universities, but the college he committed to was Louisiana State University. Maurice's stats were two total tackles and one interception.    #20 [player_tooltip player_id='1134126' first='Anthony' last='Williams'] OLB So 6'4 205 lbs    [player_tooltip player_id='1134126' first='Anthony' last='Williams'] is a terrific outside linebacker. Anthony is versatile being able to play low or high he was great at reading plays and always followed the ball and instantly attacked the ball holder. Anthony being big and strong, especially for only being a sophomore is a great bonus. Anthony's athleticism comes from his basketball background and transitions effectively to the field. Anthony's stats were 4 total tackles.    #11 Zyran King-Brooks FS, SS Sr 5'9 155 lbs    Zyran King-Brooks is a KING at coverage. Zyran is fast and great at playing at high post looking out for high passes. Zyran wasn't the most aggressive like [player_tooltip player_id='149649' first='Maurice' last='Williams'], but he made up for that with his skills, speed, and experience. Zyran one play was able to get in front of a pass and caught an interception and ran it for 30 yards. Zyran is a college prospect catching the attention of a good amount of colleges from; Arkansas Baptist College, University of Memphis, Prairie View A&M University, etc. Zyran's stats were 2 total tackles and one interception.
