The Road to State: 4A Finals Preview

Broomfield's last appearance in the state championship was in the 2019 season, where they fell 34-3 to Pine Creek, finishing the season as the 4A state runner-up.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Placing history back in the rearview, both programs have their eyes set on what is in front of them, which is the final obstacle between them and the 2022 state title. The Red Wolves have a dominant rushing attack designed for grinding out the clock and defenses, while the opposing offense can do nothing but wait and hope to get back on the field. The Eagles have proven that their dynamic offense can fly with the best teams in the state, scoring at a moment's notice through the air and on the ground.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The spotlight will be on both defenses, ultimately coming down to which of the two will have more success. Broomfield's defense has tallied 38 takeaways, 46 tackles for loss, and 13 sacks through their 13-0 season. Loveland's defense has smothered their 13 previous opponents and racked up 24 takeaways, 84 tackles for loss, and 22 sacks en route to a title birth.
