We have this weeks top QB's that tried to make a difference for their team and get them through to the next round. Some were successful and some will have to go to this offseason thinking of how to get better.

Quarterback of the Week 5A

[player_tooltip player_id='212243' first='DJ' last='Bordeaux'], ThunderRidge Grizzlies (QB)(FR.)- This young kid got the start and balled out in his chance to lead the helm for the Grizzlies. You don't see to many underclassman making an impact on the field but Bordeaux was able to come in and put up numbers. Bordeaux was 19 for 30 with 326 yards with 3 touchdowns and 4 carries for 11 yards. He even got receiver [player_tooltip player_id='503807' first='Gavin' last='Olshan'] to step and ball out with him for one of his biggest games of the year. Lets see if Bordeaux is able to lead his team against a good Arapahoe defense and put them that much closer to the state championship.

[player_tooltip player_id='22751' first='Tavian' last='Tuli'], Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans (QB)(SR.)- the Trojans have a pretty balanced attack on Offense and the key to that is Tuli. Tuli was directly responsible for all of the Trojans touchdowns. Tuli went 10 for 16 with 204 yards and 4 passing touchdowns. Pair that with 10 carries for 84 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. They play a stingy Cherry Creek defense this week so should be interesting to see if he is able to duplicate the same success against tougher competition.

[player_tooltip player_id='251265' first='Jake' last='Jones'], Chatfield Chargers (QB)(JR.)- Jones was able to have himself a nice stat line and was able to make some plays for his team when it mattered the most. Jones was 15 for 17 with 260 yards with 3 touchdowns and 4 carries for 15 yards, adding another touchdown on the ground. Was a proficient night to say the least for jones. He made plays with his feet by getting outside of the pocket on one touchdown throw and climbed the pocket to find an open receiver that was able to break 2 tackles and get a house call. Jones will have to have the same proficiency this week to upset a Ralston Valley team that I believe has a chance to win state this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='583784' first='Eliot' last='Ming'], Cherokee Trail Cougars (QB)(SO.)- Ming is only a sophomore and has some other good underclassmen that he will be able to grow with. The Cougars were not able to leave with a win but they do have a young nucleus that will continue to grow together. Ming had 3 touchdown passes which one came from a broken tackle that Peyton Sommers was able to take to the house. Another came again from Sommers on a 80 yard touchdown pass. Ming has a strong arm and when he does dial up the long pass he puts it on the money right in stride. He did have 1 interception but had a decent night overall. Ming will be someone to keep an eye on in the future with the team being so young.

Ben Krza, Mullen Mustangs (QB)(JR.)- Krza wasn't able to carry his team to a victory this week but he had a good showing in the effort. Krza was 20-42 for 331 yards and 2 touchdowns to go along with 8 carries for 67 yards. The Mustangs have somewhat of a young core and should be able to learn from this post season. Krza received a player of the game earlier in the season so he can use that as a stepping stone and this offseason to grow and hopefully have his team back next year.
