The most successful teams have a field general at the quarterback position as a signal caller. Everyone knows that everything is bigger in the State of Texas and these quarterbacks have performed at an elite level on the big stage. Here are several dynamic quarterbacks heading into round four who will be key to their team’s success.
Harrison Rosar | Prosper High School | 6’1 180 | Class of 2023 | Twitter: @harrisonrosar
Rosar has lead the Prosper Eagles to an 12-1 record and three playoff wins to advance to play against Lewisville at McKinney ISD Stadium on Saturday. Harrison has lead the Eagles offense for three years and each year he has guided Prosper to the playoffs. Rosar has a big time arm with great touch on his deep ball, he has a strong base when he sets up to make his throws, his footwork within the pocket is quiet but deliberate and he has the elite athleticism to navigate the pocket to avoid the rush. He has a quick release, runs the RPO pass to perfection with lethal accuracy and he has pinpoint accuracy throwing on the run. Rosar has passed for 2.772 yards with 35 touchdowns. Rosar has the tools that makes the Prosper Eagles a contender for a State Championship. Harrison is also a standout on the baseball field for the Prosper baseball team.
PJ Hatter | Westfield High School | 6’2 190 | Class of 2023 | Twitter: @PrestonHatter2
Hatter is one the top signal callers in the state of Texas and is playing at a high level for the Westfield Mustangs as they head into a fourth round matchup with Duncanville. He leads an 12-1 Mustangs offensive attack, coming off a 10-7 win over Waxahachie. Preston has elite arm talent, with pinpoint accuracy and can deliver the football from multiple arm platforms. His ability to avoid the rush, keep his eyes downfield and complete passes are key traits that make him special. Hatter looks to pass first but is a dangerous runner. Preston is elusive in the open field and has the next level speed to score from any distance on the football field. Hatter has been the steady presence in the Mustangs offense that has them close to punching their ticket to a State Championship. The senior signal caller has passed for over 3.000 yards and 41 touchdowns this season and whichever school lands Hatter will get the total package at the quarterback position.
Zion Brown | Atascocita High School | 6’0 180 | Class of 2024 | Twitter : @ZionQB
Brown is having a standout junior season for the Eagles, as leads his team into a rematch with district rival North Shore in round four of the state playoffs. Zion is the leader and catalyst the makes the Eagles offense click. Brown is a gifted passer, with excellent arm strength, he has great touch on his deep ball and is very accurate on his short to intermediate routes. He navigates the pocket well and sees the field like a veteran. Brown plays with poise, stays under control when the pocket breaks down and he has the skill set to make accurate throws on the run or rolling out to either side. Zion is lethal when he runs. He has sprinter speed and possesses the elusiveness to breakdown defenders in the open but can make a house call from anywhere on the field. With well over 2.700 yards passing and near the 1,000 yard mark for rushing heading into this week’s contest vs North Shore, look for Brown to continue to work his magic from the Atascocita backfield.
