Zack Crawford
Zack Crawford
Mr. Crawford was a force on both sides of the ball during Saturday’s contest. This young man was able to finish the night with 2 rushing TDs on the day as well as a handful of tackles and an impressive sack. On offense, he can work both as a receiver and halfback on jumbo sets. Here, he has the foot quicks to burst through the hole and can break weak grab tackles by keeping his feet driving through contact. Where he shined the most was on defense working as an inside linebacker. This young man was flying to the ball getting his nose in on almost every play is seemed like. He can trigger downhill quickly in close space to mee the ballcarrier in the hole and disrupt plays in the backfield. One play that really stood out was to close out the half where he closed on the QB quickly and jumped from 3 or so yards out to bring the QB down for a sack – talk about an athletic play. Currently holds no offers. Twitter
Mr. Gautcher has had an impressive season so far switching to skilled positions as he takes his first season of Varsity snaps. Working as both a receiver and a safety brings his athleticism to light. On offense, he can secure catches on the sideline with a toe tap and has the foot quicks to take the top off on fly routes. On defense, he had a showing working as a safety coming away with an interception in the third where he returned it for 45 yards. He also played the alley well coming from a single high look to close quickly securing open field tackles in the flat for no gain. His long reach also came in handy when defending deep shots downfield as he was able to get his hand in the receiving basket forcing pass breakups. All in all, this is an overall athlete that can play receiver, safety, and quarterback at a high level. Get eyes on him now. Twitter
Highlights
Mr. Curtis has foot quicks through the hole and once he gets through can use his burst to keep the chains moving. He almost broke a few long runs but got brought down last second by the last defender. This young man does have the vision to find running lanes quickly between the tackles and he can break weak grab tackles by keeping his feet driving. This is exactly how he was able to get into the endzone for 6 in the 3rd. He also has potential as a corner where he came away with an interception to end the game in the 4th. Twitter
Highlights
Mr. Meier has a good pocket presence as he can feel pressure well to navigate to get the ball out to keep the chains moving. He does a good job of making level 3 throws on deep shots downfield and flashes the ability to add a touch on level 2 throws to fit the ball into tight windows between the safety and linebackers across the middle of the field. This young man also has legs to him on QB design runs and can pull the ball down to scramble if nothing is open downfield. Being at the helm of Sycamore’s dominant offensive attack, be sure to keep a close eye on this young man as his team looks to take on Nazareth Academy. Twitter
Highlights
Mr. Bode is a linebacker that can fly to the ball getting involved in almost every play that comes his way during Saturday’s contest. Pairing him with what Mr. Crawford was a formidable front for Sterling to overcome both in the run game and in the air attack. This young man was able to meet the ball carrier in the hole for no to little gain on a consistent basis and can disengage blocks to secure tackles on the perimeter for minimal gain. Overall, this is a linebacker that totaled over 100 tackles last season and has been nothing short of having a similar performance this fall season. Most recently picked up an offer from Upper Iowa back in July. Twitter
