Gautcher is a 6’2, 200 Class of 2025 prospect who turned heads in his sophomore campaign. Now seeing Big Ten interest, Gautcher is ready to light it up in his junior year. The talented wide receiver and safety brought in 37 catches for over 750 yards and 10 touchdowns. While its too soon to tell which side of the ball Gautcher projects at in college, he is equally impressive at both. He showcases elite top-end speed and precision route running that creates miles of separation. It’s no wonder Gautcher averaged 20 yards a catch last year. On defense, he is smooth in coverage and will get downhill in a hurry to make difficult tackles in the open field. Long story short, Gautcher is an all around athlete who could be a top recruit in the country following his junior season.

The Sycamore product impressed in a variety of ways during his sophomore campaign. Gautcher stands at 6’2 and weighs 200 lbs. He has the size that puts Division 1 coaches on notice, but his skills at wide receiver are what will earn him several offers over the next few years. Gautcher is an incredibly smooth route runner. He cuts in and out of breaks with ease and showcases the impressive ability to accelerate, decelerate, and accelerate again with effortlessness. Gautcher’s ability to stack defensive backs is next level, as he moves in and out of breaks gracefully. And as for his hands, they’re just as smooth as his route running. Gautcher’s stock is on the rise heading into his junior season.

Came into summer camp szn: offerless
Now holds offers from: Northern Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Kent State, Illinois
Summary: The 6’2, 200 lb. athlete out of Sycamore High School – located around an half and a half west of Chicago – was the first prospect to catch our eye as a massive summer stock-riser as he blew up over the course of four days after coming into June without a college offer of any kind. He now holds three B1G and two FBS offers, including from his home state Illini, after showing up and showing out at the Fighting Illini Showcase camp in early June, where he repped at linebacker after playing WR and S as a junior. It was a heckuva showing by the rising junior, who posted 37 receptions for 762 yards and 10 TDs (nearly 21 YPC) in the fall of 2022 while showing off deep-play speed, excellent COD skills and balance – particularly through contact – length, and physicality on both sides of the ball. Defensively, which seems to be where college’s project him at the next level, Gautcher flies upfield in run support and out of his breaks in coverage, lays a heckuva stick at the contact point, and is comfortable tackling in space and in 1-on-1 settings. He gets to ball carriers with impressive ease and speed and was disruptive in the run & pass game. Now, he’s a certified B1G and P5 recruit. What a start to the summer!

Mr. Gautcher has had an impressive season so far switching to skilled positions as he takes his first season of Varsity snaps. Working as both a receiver and a safety brings his athleticism to light. On offense, he can secure catches on the sideline with a toe tap and has the foot quicks to take the top off on fly routes. On defense, he had a showing working as a safety coming away with an interception in the third where he returned it for 45 yards. He also played the alley well coming from a single high look to close quickly securing open field tackles in the flat for no gain. His long reach also came in handy when defending deep shots downfield as he was able to get his hand in the receiving basket forcing pass breakups. All in all, this is an overall athlete that can play receiver, safety, and quarterback at a high level. Get eyes on him now. Twitter
