Continue ReadingTo no one’s surprise, the slate of MN state semifinal games was electric and we have some excellent championship matchups from 9man up to 6A. As I’m sure a lot of you already know, the state title games have been moved back a week to ## the Vikings Thanksgiving Day schedule, so with extra time for the teams to prepare and the masses still hungry for prep football and high school football recruiting PrepRedzoneMN is here to fill that void with recruiting-focused content, awards, and distinctions, and a ton of other fun content to help you get your fix. To start things off, we’re going to be highlighting the senior class and the still-ongoing recruitments of the Top-15 uncommitted 2023 prospects in the state, and I’m happy to report there are still some very talented Minnesotans unsigned and still searching for a home at the next level. From healthy offer lists to still under-the-radar ballers, let’s take a look at Minnesota’s Top-15 Overall Uncommitted 2023s below. Thanks for reading!

1) Grant Chapman Grant Chapman 6'5" | 280 lbs | OL Anoka | 2023 State MN (Anoka) OL. 6’5, 280 lbs.
I wrote about MN’s top uncommitted senior a few days ago in a PrepRedzone Midwest feature so I’ll try not to repeat myself here. There’s a good amount of mystery surrounding his recruitment, especially as of late, and his last reported recruiting note was an April visit to Kansas State, so I don’t have a good feeling about where he could be potentially heading as the Early Signing Day period nears. Chapman earned offers from Iowa State, Kansas State, and Kansas in 2021 and visited Iowa State, Minnesota, and KState in 2022, so I guess we’ll just see what happens and enjoy the announcement whenever the time comes. In that aforementioned Midwest feature, I stated that Chapman was capable of dominating in both run and pass blocking and is efficient and mobile enough to trap, pull, fold, and block in space, which speaks to his athleticism, quickness, and body control at 6’5, 280 lbs. With Minnesota’s history of producing high-quality lineman in the trenches it’s easy to see why he’s earned P5 offers and I can’t wait to see where the Anoka product will be heading.
2) Sawyer Seidl Sawyer Seidl 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Hill-Murray | 2023 State MN (Hill-Murray) RB. 5’10, 170 lbs.
In all honesty, I’m surprised the distinguished Pioneers RB doesn’t have a bigger thicker sheet of offers at this point in his senior year, which isn’t to say he isn’t already popular on the recruiting trail. New Mexico State, Western Illinois, Army, St. Thomas, and Southern Illinois all offered between February and the middle of June in 2022, and Brian Bergstrom also smartly entered the fray this season for a DII offer as well. There’s a ton to like in Seidl’s skillset and resume, as he’s a stud three-sport athlete also excelling on an excellent Hill-Murray hockey team who has also posted 100 M times in the 10.7s and 200 M times sub-22 seconds. Also a 3x All-District pick on the gridiron who was just picked for the MN All-Star game, Seidl brings speed, athleticism, experience, production, and explosiveness to the table, among other things, and his senior tape’s first and second plays do a good job of showcasing a lot of those traits. The second play in particular is sweet, as he impressively hurdles a Mahtomedi safety, clearing the tackle attempt, and recreating the Jordan Jumpman before landing on one foot and eating a tackle attempt with ease. Where Seidl’s junior film was filled with long runs where he was barely touched, the senior tape shows off contact balance in great fashion. Not to say he still wasn’t fast, as his burst and big play ability were still all over the 10 minutes of tape and there isn’t a question in my mind he’s going to be a productive college RB just like he was in high school. As a senior, Sawyer finished with 203 carries for 1525 yards and 22 TDs and I’ll update this piece when I can eventually find some career numbers.
3) Antonio Fondren Antonio Fondren 6'5" | 270 lbs | DL Osseo | 2023 State MN (Osseo) OL/DL. 6’4, 300 lbs.
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s transfer turned Osseo senior Antonio Fondren Antonio Fondren 6'5" | 270 lbs | DL Osseo | 2023 State MN holds a healthy offer list that is still growing after he recently was offered by Tennessee State on November 17th. Northwestern State, St. Thomas, Hawaii, Eastern Kentucky, South Alabama, and Florida A&M have all also offered up, and he had a visit set for this weekend at Northwestern State that he has probably recently wrapped up. Osseo had a ton of size on their 2022 roster with Fondren among the first few you’d want to walk off the bus first, and seeing him line up at FB in the first play of his senior film is a scary sight to behold. He can get out of his stance and change direction well enough to lineup at OG, OT, or FB and execute different blocks around the LOS and in space, and has a crushing punch and a strong, solid base. I also like his DL film where he shows off the strength to defeat double teams and dominant one-on-blocks, and he’s got some good lateral agility to boot. All at 6’4, 300 lbs.! Can’t wait to see where he ends up.
4) Brady Anderson Brady Anderson 6'1" | 195 lbs | DB Edina | 2023 State MN (Edina) DB/WR. 6’2, 200 lbs.
In terms of numbers of D1 offers, I believe Edina’s Brady Anderson Brady Anderson 6'1" | 195 lbs | DB Edina | 2023 State MN is the next most popular unsigned senior in the Land of 10,000 Lakes and has reported offers from St. Thomas, Georgia State, Eastern Kentucky, Arkansas State, Fordham, and most recently Army-West Point. The recent KARE11 All-Metro pick seems to have Georgia State high on his list and visited in November as well. Anderson had an outstanding year on both sides of the ball and finished the fall with 1,052 all-purpose yards and 9 TDs plus 40 tackles and an INT and is a fast, twitchy, and smooth offensive weapon from the RB or WR spots. He’s very shifty in the open field and possesses some noticeable burst as well. I love his DB tape too, as his hips are loose, and there’s quickness out of his breaks, overall change of direction skills, and tackling ability are all on display impressively as a corner and safety. Line him up anywhere and he’s going to ball. Bright future for the Hornet and I’m eagerly awaiting his eventual college decision.
5) Chuck Gilbert Chuck Gilbert 6'2" | 170 lbs | WR Holy Angels | 2023 State MN (Holy Angels) WR. 6’2, 180 lbs.
Gilbert got a big boost in his recruitment stock in late October when the hometown Gophers offered a B1G PWO, and MN’s WR1 was just named to the MN All-Star game roster and also holds offers from MSU-Mankato, Northern Iowa, and Central Michigan. During the 2022 regular season, Gilbert posted 27 catches for 580 yards and 10 TDs plus an impressive 6 INT total as a DB. His speed is on display nicely as a deep threat running routes or when the ball is in his hand and he torched pursuing defenders and covering DBs in a ton of different situations this fall. I also like his ball skills, especially in the redzone and as a DB, and overall he’s got an athletic playing style that the Gophers liked enough to throw a prestigious PWO to. We’ll see if the B1G opportunity is too hard to resist. Great career, Chuck!
6) Jacob Kilzer Jacob Kilzer 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Maple Grove | 2023 State MN (Maple Grove) QB/ATH. 6’3, 200 lbs.
The now-2x 6A state championship-appearing QB has done nothing but improve his play and raise his recruiting stock year after year in his Maple Grove Crimson jersey and things are all coming to a head late in his senior year as he’s set to compete for that elusive state title and is seeing recruitment bump up in his final season of prep ball. Excitedly, Kilzer saw a North Dakota State PWO offer come his way yesterday, and in May he was offered an FBS scholarship to Ohio as an athlete, so between those two opportunities and his St. Thomas FCS roster spot he’s got some solid options to choose from and I have a feeling his list may not be done, especially if he can win the state championship. A dangerous dual-threat QB, Kilzer has a big arm that can make accurate, off-platform throws and is a strong and silky runner at 6’3, 200 with good speed and contact balance. I really enjoy watching him extend plays with his legs when he stays behind the LOS and keeps his eyes downfield. There’s a lot to be excited about in how his recruitment may continue to develop, as well as his game and potentially where he’ll play at the next level. But first and foremost the state title game takes precedence and I’m looking forward to watching Kilzer again perform on MN prep football’s biggest stage.
7) Najee Nelson Najee Nelson 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB Lakeville North | 2023 State MN (Lakeville North) ATH. 6′, 185 lbs.
Najee Nelson Najee Nelson 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB Lakeville North | 2023 State MN was a revelation for the Lakeville North Panthers offense in 2022 and had a great season on both sides of the ball playing against some of MN’s best competition. With offers from North Dakota State and Montana State under his belt and his older brother balling out at NDSU, there are some obvious signs pointing to Fargo in his future, but with recruiting and high schoolers intertwined you just never know. As a DB, one of Nelson’s biggest strengths is his physicality, which was very prevalent in his junior tape, and things are even better as a senior. He’s lethal at getting off blocks and laying hard hits around the edge, and his coverage skills are also looking good, as he’s smooth and patient in his backpedal, doesn’t waste steps, and is efficient in his footwork, has the speed to stay on top of faster wideouts, and is comfortable when the ball is in the air. Also explosive with the ball in his hands as a RB or WR. Great technique and a very fluid athlete make for an eye-pleasing combo. Best of luck with your decision, Najee!
8) Ashton Lloyd Ashton Lloyd 6'5" | 235 lbs | TE Blue Earth Area | 2023 State MN (Blue Earth Area) TE/ATH. 6’5, 235 lbs.
The PredRedzoneMN Showcase veteran was an XL QB for state AA quarterfinalist Blue Earth in 2022 and holds a solid list of college offers with Winona State, Sioux Falls, Montana State, Southwest Minnesota State, and Army making up the senior’s reported opportunities. Lloyd was just named to the MN All-Star Game and is coming off a junior season that produced some great tape showing off quickness, balance, and vertical ability for a bigger prep TE. Lloyd showed a ton of juice with his arm and his legs this fall as QB1 and did a great job of using his natural playmaking ability and athleticism to consistently extend Blue Earth offensive drives with a balanced attack. He possesses a big, strong arm that shows off accuracy and touch, and boy do I love watching him take off and run though, as his stiff-arm his menacing and his overall athleticism at 6’5, 235 lbs. screams Division 1 football player. It was a monster year for the monster recruit and whoever lands him is going to get a kid ready to play sooner rather than later.
9) Sam Musungu (Andover) WR.
The talented pass-catcher from Andover was one of MN’s best stock risers in 222 and saw his efforts pay off with St. John’s, Winona State, and an NDSU PWO offers coming his way during the fall. I’ve written about him a few times this fall so I’ll keep it shorter, but with his 15 TD catches on 40 total receptions, the stats, as well as the film, speaks to his explosiveness. Musungu is especially electric with the ball in his hands and is powerful and elusive in the open field after the catch. Also shows a little bit of looseness in his hips that help him create separation as a route runner. Musungu has a fun senior tape to watch and would be a fun one to watch in Fargo if he decides to head that direction. NDSU takes their PWOs seriously and that opportunity means he’s got some real-deal potential for the next 4-5 years.
10) Andrew Harren Andrew Harren 6'5" | 200 lbs | WR Sauk Rapids-Rice | 2023 State MN (Sauk Rapids-Rice) WR. 6’4, 200 lbs.
It’s been a while since Sauk Rapids-Rice pass-catcher Harren received an offer, but with FCS heavyweight South Dakota State offering in March and Army-West Point following later that month, he’s still got some prestigious college opportunities. SSR had a good 2022 season and Harren was a big part of it, totaling 40 receptions for 665 yards and 8 TDs and getting a lot of his big plays from double-moves on start & stops and post-corners and showing some solid flexibility and shiftiness for a WR of his size. Harren can also high-point the football impressively and is a coordinated and well-built prep pass catcher who gave DBs and DCs fits all season.
11) Aidan Boehle Aidan Boehle 6'6" | 210 lbs | DL Minnetonka | 2023 State MN (Minnetonka) EDGE. 6’5, 210 lbs.
A lean and mean EDGE prospect who impressed 24/7Sports Ryan Burns and Allen Trieu this summer at the Minnesota Gopher’s summer prospect camp, Minnetonka’s Boehle posted 43 tackles, 10 TFLs, and 4 sacks in 2022 and earned in-season offers from Northern State, Bemidji State, UMary, and Winona State and highlighted by a PWO from Northern Iowa. Valpo, SMSU, and Concordia-St. Paul all also joined the mix before the fall. He’s got a good first step and a little bit of bend around the edge, and I also love his closing and pursuit speed as well as his active hands. Boehle has the tools to be a very productive DE/EDGE presence at the next level and whoever lands him is getting a baller.
12) Jackson Stewart Jackson Stewart WR Delano | 2023 MN (Delano) DE/TE. 6’5, 250 lbs.
I first came across Stewart’s standout junior film while grinding Preseason All-State film this summer when the massive two-way contributor was offerless and was immediately impressed by his size and physicality for the Delano Tigers. His hard work is all paying off as a senior as college teams are also impressed enough to offer scholarships and roster spots, and MSU-Mankato, Augustana, and NDSU have all offered since October, the latter of which came yesterday in the form of a PWO. A dominant run blocker with contact balance after the catch and soft hands to pull off TE screens and catches in traffic, Stewart can do a lot of things asked of him on the gridiron and is a strong and coordinated athlete at a massive 6’5, 250 lbs. Can’t wait to see where he ends up.
13) Jaylen Boehm-Peterson Jaylen Boehm-Peterson 6'3" | 175 lbs | DB Academy of Holy Angels | 2023 State MN (Holy Angels) DB. 6’3, 190 lbs.
One of the more high-ceiling athletes on this list with the size to make DB coaches drool, Jaylen Boehm-Peterson Jaylen Boehm-Peterson 6'3" | 175 lbs | DB Academy of Holy Angels | 2023 State MN blew up this summer after an impressive performance at the Gophers prospect camp and was offered by Bemidji State, UMD, and Northern State right after. Things have been quiet on the recruiting trail ever since though, so if someone wants to make a late push for the stud senior he’s still open for business and could make a college recruiter look very smart if they land his talent. He also took a game day visit to the Minnesota Gophers this fall. Length, instincts that keep him around the football, and physicality in run support all look good in his midseason tape, and I like his technique when the ball is in the air and his speed looks solid as well. With that mix of athleticism and technique I’m quite surprised he isn’t more popular of a recruit right now. Get at him!
14) Love Adebayo Love Adebayo 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB Saint Thomas Academy | 2023 State MN (St. Thomas Academy) RB. 5’8, 190 lbs.
The bruising St. Thomas Academy RB entered the FCS ranks of recruits with Western Illinois and St. Thomas offering up this spring/summer and has laid some massive hits in 2022 all over the field for the Cadets. The first play of his senior film is probably the biggest hit I’ve seen this fall scouting MN film, and his contact balance and truckstick from the RB position can’t help but leave your mouth gaping. Burst, power, physicality, and balance are four of my favorite things I see on his senior tape and I would hate to try and have to tackle this kid. Great tape and great career, Love! If he goes to UST and joins his brother in the backfield I’m going to watch every single game.
15) Cade Osterman Cade Osterman 6'1" | 185 lbs | ATH Elk River | 2023 State MN (Elk River) QB/ATH.
Now a state championship appearing QB, Elk River’s do-it-all baller Osterman holds a weighty DII list of offers with Sioux Falls, UMD, MSU-Mankato, Winona State, and NAIA Dordt all officially on his list of offers. Quick, speedy, and possessing good vision with the ball in his hands in Elk River’s run-heavy attack, Osterman is also a crushing safety with great range and has been the lynchpin to Elk River’s success in 2022. Let’s see where he ends up and if he can get this ring soon!
